    Pros

The money is good if you don't mind the hours. The people I work with are cool.
    Cracker Barrel trains well

    Cons

After being cut from the floor you can be there another 1-2 hours at server wage. The managers are horrible except the gm. He seems to care. And one manager, She is always onto us, but it seems like she cares, and she shows respect.

    Advice to Management

Find some managers that don't freak out on us when it gets busy. When you do get a good one, you run them off. I hope these two good ones stay. One likely won't. If you work at cracker barrel then know why. Cut us from the floor before the end so we can get our sidework done and not have to be there all day and night.

    Pros

The money was very good as a waitress and depending on your location, you can work your way up to a good hosting wage(around 9/10 dollars per hour).

    Cons

Constantly changing management, stressful job, waitressing is not for everyone

    Advice to Management

as long as tye management is steady, things go more smoothly in the restaurant

I worked at Cracker Barrel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good training program, chance to move up. Fair with scheduling. Good benefits, plus discounts. People were made to help everyone.

    Cons

Working holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Having to split parties greater than eight. They were more focused on the company than if the employees made enough to live off of

    Pros

I was part of the opening of a restaurant and it was really easy to get hired honestly. They didn't even contact my references. The managers (at my store at least) are actually pretty great. When you work cashier your manager directly above is actually the retail manager (of which there is one), though you still answer to the (usually 4 or 5 ) restaurant managers as well. I made some really great friends and the managers have dealt with any complaints I've made in a swift manor.

    Cons

A lot of gossip. It never stops and is one of the worse parts of the job. It's like high school all over again, no one can behave in a professional manor. I applied to be cashier but since I've been there the company has decided to push cashiers and retail into becoming one job. I have no problem with doing retail, but I didn't apply for that because I didn't want to deal with people in that fashion at this point in my life. Also working on the retail side of the store is extremely boring, yes it is easy, but you find yourself praying for the day to finally end in the middle of your shift.

    Advice to Management

This store isn't the same from when I was hired. It's like all the hype of training a hundred people and have corporate come just slowly withered away. When I first started I actually didn't mind going to work, I woke up and said "today's gonna be pretty good". Now I dread every time I step foot into the store.

    Pros

Very friendly caring clean environment to work. I have only been in the position/employment for a month BUT there is room to grow if you choose to.

    Cons

Cashiers do it all...greet guests, cash guests out, sample product, assist customers, answer phones lines and direct calls, price product for retail, fold or hang clothes for retail, reset menus with flyers/promotional meals.
