I have been working at Cracker Barrel part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Our management team is very good at making me feel valued, and my coworkers are all fantastic - a good indicator of how employment will go is the type of people that have been hired around you. Pay is fine, and you quickly are eligible for promotions and feedback on your performance. They are also very good at scheduling you when you can work and not when you can't.

    Cons

Cracker Barrel has the perception at times of being a more rustic, old-timey place than other restaurants or stores, and some stores can make you feel like that when you're working. It's hard to balance innovation and old-fashioned, so if you're looking for chrome and glamor, you might want to consider work elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to balance innovation with your culture and values, and you'll continue to hold your market!

I worked at Cracker Barrel part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The pros of working at Cracker Barrel are; home style atmosphere, friendly co workers, management is hands on and customers are the best. I loved being there and helping guests to feel at home. Hours are flexible and pay is decent for retail. Good training and good feedback from management.

    Cons

The only con that I saw was that there were too many part time employees which limited the amount of hours that were available to work. I worked there during the Christmas season and would have liked to work more hours but because of staffing the hours just were not available.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider giving more hours to employees that have proven themselves and that want the hours.

I have been working at Cracker Barrel part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

-Flexible hours (most likely because there are 20 other people who can take your place)
    -Friendly managers
-Good introduction to the restaurant industry

    Cons

-If you are hoping to get a lot of hours, this is definitely not the place to work.
-Ridiculously strict on uniform. For example, a coworker almost got sent home for having the wrong type of back pockets on her pants.
-Very low overall employee morale, no one ever wants to be working there.
-If you are a minor, don't expect to ever get more than 4 hour shifts because they are too cheap to pay for breaks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire less people, we all are more than willing to accept more hours!

    I worked at Cracker Barrel

    Pros

They're very flexible with schedules, very understanding if you have more than one job, very kind, and very helpful. I loved working there.

    Cons

The only slight challenge I had had nothing to do with the company itself and that was the distance from my house to the job. Definitely worth it though.
