I worked at Cracker Barrel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great staff, good managers and awesome upper management. Fun and laid back vibe plus management will work with your schedule

    Cons

Hard to move up and hard to get full time hours. Servers and restaurant side have more hours compared to retail side. If you are on retail side the pay is very low.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Home office and upper management need to remember that promoting people within is usually easier then training a completely new manager.

    Pros

The management works with the employees on an individual basis in order to make the most of your work experience. The company also has excellent benefits.

    Cons

It is an extremely fast paced work environment that requires a lot of stamina. Breaks are short and sometimes they don't exist at all.

I worked at Cracker Barrel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good money and lots of experience since it is such a large company with each restaurant having over a hundred employees

    Cons

Long hours and a not consistent shift Makes for a struggle if you have a family to balance time with.

    Advice to Management

No one likes 55 hours a week. Makes for a struggle to balance a real quality of life besides good money.

    Pros

Very flexible hours, especially for college students and people who have children. PAR system allows you to advance fairly quickly. Emphasis on "Pleasing People" makes is different than any other eating / retail establishment.

    Cons

Keep a close eye on the "ever changing" schedule, you may be scheduled on your day off even if you've made plans.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.
