    Cons

Can be too laid back sometimes

I worked at Creighton University full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The people you work with are great. They are like family. Creighton does a lot for the employees with professional development opportunities, lunches, and opportunities to volunteer for causes. Great flexibility for work-life balance. The cost of insurance is less than others that I have had or seen.

    Cons

This is education - do not expect to make a lot of money. If you want to park in the parking lots, you have to pay for parking. Only get paid once a month. It takes forever (it seems like) for change to happen within the organization. Silos between divisions which is frustrating to deal with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Deal with the silos between divisions. Explain why you make the decisions you make. You will gain more support if you do. The staff - faculty division is getting larger. The staff support and often times do the work of faculty and upper management. Reward them for it.

Easy on campus access. Flexible hours for a student schedule. Great people. interact with prospective students from all over the country.

    Cons

Many students do not take their work study program seriously.

I have been working at Creighton University full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good coworkers.
Good benefits, especially health care and tuition remission for self and family members.
Able to take classes for a nominal fee.
Able to attend Mass, bible study, and spiritual direction.
    Opportunities for employee/career development.

    Cons

Salaries are a bit lower than other places.
Workplace satisfaction varies depending on department, school, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep communicating with employees; they are interested in what is going on in the institution, and prefer to find out from management rather than the news media.

I worked at Creighton University part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You get 1000/month for working 10 hours a week.
You also get compensated for 9 credit hours per year.
(These numbers could change by year, but you always get at least 6 credit hours paid for, and at least 500/month. It just depends on how many GRAs there are that year and how much money they have budgeted)
You get to set your own schedule with the professor that you are an assistant for.

    Cons

You don't always have work to do.... I guess this can be a Pro depending on how you look at it.
    Really there are no cons.

Pleasant work environment, a bit difficult to advance

I worked at Creighton University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Creighton is a nice university setting. Opportunities for employee development. People appreciate the Catholic and Jesuit identity of the university.

    Cons

Advancement plan for employees is non-existent. It really depends upon whether you can make connections on your own. HR doesn't help out much, but it's small enough that you can make connections if you try.

  10.

    I worked at Creighton University

    Pros

It is a fun place to work. I was only an intern while I was a student so my experiences may differ compared to a full time employee.

    Cons

As an intern, you were responsible for all the grunt work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In the athletic department, it is easy to communicate with management. They are always open for ideas.

    I worked at Creighton University

    Pros

The benefits package is great! Tuition remission, health, retirement, plus other perks. It was a caring, team-oriented place.

    Cons

The pay is not great and asking for a raise can be problematic due to the structure of their salaries and job descriptions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing more to say: the managment was very open and caring
