    Narcississtic leadership

    Director (Former Employee) Niwot, CO

Prosdiscount makes the shoes priced where they should be
    casual dress
some really good and passionate people

    ConsSelf-important leadership
Clique-ish management circles where the "in crowd" plots again "the people who don't matter" (actual quotes)
    ZERO focus on cultural behaviors
Duplicitous leadership mantra - tell the masses what they want to hear, then do what you want

Advice to Senior ManagementCongratulations on all your success. For all your accomplishments and competency, hows the company performance and attrition improved based on anything you've done? By a mirror, read more, and stop, just sop what you are doing. Look like your moving to Boston...good luck with your golden parachutes :-/

    Enormous disappointment

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Niwot, CO

ProsIce cream Thursdays and corn hole.

ConsCrocs has been an enormous disappointment. It is the worst management and company I have ever worked for. There is no training, yet you are expected to know everything about your job on day one. Basic useful information does not exist and countless hours are spent trying to obtain answers just to do your job. The employees who have been here for a long time and have the knowledge/tools/information, refuse to help and simply let the new people struggle.

Forget talking to anyone in human resources. They are a terribly unhelpful group and rarely return phone calls or respond to emails. None of them are friendly and they seem downright miserable - like it's a chore for them to even say "hi".

The management team makes awesome salaries and bonuses while paying the rest of us way below market. Management members don't listen and tend to be exceedingly rude and dismissive towards the employees. Crocs is supposed to be "FUN" (one of their supposed values), but it is far from it. People here are miserable and on edge. Too many bad business decisions and mistakes are made every day. It's sickening to witness.

There's much more, but I won't waste any more time. I need to find another job because I am not going down with this doomed ship.

Advice to Senior ManagementWake up. Get rid of the CFO before he destroys the entire company. He is negatively impacting the whole organization with his outrageous disrespectful behavior, lack of integrity, and complete failure to listen or communicate. Which is why most of the employees are questioning why he is in the position he is. He has no business managing people whatsoever. The company hasn't been able to find a new CEO. No wonder. Who wants to take over this mess? It would be best to sell the company as quickly as possible to someone who actually knows what it takes to run a successful shoe business. Good luck.

Terribly unorganized for bottom to top

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsNot much.. Good benefits

ConsExtremely little support from the corporate level. . Mismanaged on the district and regional level. Corporate focus is constantly changing with zero input or consideration for the store level.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider your store level employees who decidedly handle the success of your company.

Arrogant District and upper management ruined this company!!

    Store Manager (Former Employee)

Prosawesome comfortable shoes, loved helping out customers who actually benefited health wise using Crocs shoes.

ConsThe company does not walk the talk they preach!!
    Inexperienced and arrogant district managers!

Advice to Senior ManagementThink about your supply situation, we never had the right mix of product at the right times. The thought of taking away a locations total Mens Shoe assortment three weeks before Fathers Day does not really set up a location for sucess. The employee bonus program, the old gold/silver/bronze, was perfect it did encourage competition.....the new bonus only encourages complacency.

Lack of basic human decency has wrecked this company

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsLots of PTO if you can use it

Cons-Everyone does everything they can to work against you and make every process as painfully complicated as possible.
-No room to move up in the company.
-Endless amounts of repetitive paperwork that no one will ever look at
-The return policy for customers allows for massive amounts of fraud.
-Company complains about spending and instead of revamping systems where money is wasted, they attack the stores to gouge out what little savings they can (i.e. labor cuts, cutting back on needed supplies)
-No training program for new employees (Throw them to the wolves mentality), along with no hours for them to work. This leads to an incredible turnover rate.
-The bonus program for associates and managers is unobtainable

Advice to Senior ManagementLEAVE or this company will not survive

From the outside it looks great, don't let that fool you

Corporate Employee (Current Employee) Niwot, CO

    ProsGreat benefits
    Casual work environment
You learn a lot about yourself and what you are capable of handling

    ConsFavoritism
    Communication issues through company
Policies and procedures are picked when they are to be used depending on situation
    No trust
    Disorganized
Trying to grow big too fast

Advice to Senior ManagementTake care of the hourly employees first, because they are the ones out in the field doing the hard grunt work and trying to make sales with as little man power as possible. Don't promise something to them and then deliver something completely different. Management/corporate has no problem spending money, but when it comes down to important things that could make a difference in employee morale, all of a sudden there is a budget constraint.

    Thank God for management change

    Director (Current Employee)

ProsBoulder is a wonder town to raise kids and Crocs could…could…be a great company.

ConsSenior management is boys club––time to hit the golf course full time. Excited about new Blackstone-led management.

Advice to Senior ManagementTime for a real Product Development strategy. Stop throwing $#(& at the wall and see what sticks. How much $ did we lose developing those golf lines and women's leather goods?

    Manipulation abound

Functional Leader (Current Employee) Niwot, CO

Proscomfy shoes, gym, ice cream in the summer

ConsAmazing how all these positive reviews have popped up a week after a solicitous email was sent to the hand picked "yes men." Don't be fooled - they are only stroking their own egos - take a look at the stock if you want to know how this company is doing.

    A circus of horrible leaders

Corporate Monkey (Current Employee) Niwot, CO

ProsPeers are passionate and good people trying to make good out of a bad situation. By peers, I mean entry level individuals, not any level of management.

ConsI think the HR department should stand for "Horrific Ridiculousness". People who are so self absorbed in their own "performance" and career goals that they will step on anyone in the process of their jobs. How many surveys do you need that show the same result time and time again, yet there is nothing being done about the results. Management is horrible! HR is horrible! Perhaps we need to look at the "top" of the HR organization as a problem. Perhaps we need to admit that the management team overall is a problem. It has been and will continue to be until someone steps up to the plate and makes a decision to clean house and start again. The brand is so unique and can be such an amazing success if the "Chiefs" would get their egos and pride out of the way and let smart people run the company in the right way! Getting rid of the CEO is a step in the right direction but there are 8 more steps to rebuilding this company that have yet to be addressed. This is a community, not one person. Quit lying to yourselves and your employees about the culture. The culture is toxic and led by fear and people who are not willing to be a part of a team.

Advice to Senior ManagementBOARD OF DIRECTORS: OPEN YOUR EYES AND EARS! --- CHIEFS/VPs/Most Directors: Do the right thing for the company and step aside. If you really care about your reputation and pride- quit running this company into the ground! Wouldn't it be better for your reputation to succeed and add value to an organization desperately in need of leadership? Notice I said LEADERSHIP, not management. Until you realize that these are two drastically different roles- we will get nowhere! I am spending so much time looking for another job so that I can get out of this sinking ship and I hope you realize how many other people are as well. You are going to lose the very talent and passion that can make this company a $2 Billion dollar company where people actually want to come work. Lying to the public through "company reviews" is not going to attract and retain top talent- it will add speed to the revolving door...but then again HR may fill their quotas...
