Too much required for what they pay!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Kennesaw, GA

I have been working at CryoLife full-time for more than 3 years

ProsFacility, great people, nice CEO, Everybody plays a part in saving lives.

ConsManagement, no future for improvement, no opportunity for advancement - the position you are will, more than likely, be the position you're stuck in for years. Too much paperwork and not enough utilization of technology; too old fashioned. All managers think about the worst-case scenario on everything. Stressful! Pay sucks compared to other companies; especially for what they expect you to do.

Advice to Senior ManagementQuit and allow people the opportunity to change things.

Terrible pay in Tissue Processing and Little/No promotion potential

Dissector (Former Employee)
Kennesaw, GA

I worked at CryoLife full-time for more than a year

Pros- Flexible shifts
- Good social environment
- Good lab skill development
- Great entry biology/lab position
- Decent insurance

Cons-No, absolutely no worthwhile promotion potential, people with a degree(B.S. or higher) make the same as those with H.S. education.
-Entry level position, a lot of turn over
-10 hour shifts are commonly actually 12 hours shifts
-Management is not cohesive

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote education and allow more promotion and opportunities to grow.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Could be better...but not bad.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Kennesaw, GA

I have been working at CryoLife full-time for more than a year

ProsOk benefits. Most co-workers are friendly and helpful. Nice and clean facility.

ConsCould have better health insurance, retirement plans, and education assistance. Needs some technology upgrades. Waste so much paper. Needs more team building/meetings/social events or communication classes.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate to build a team instead of just employees.

Cryolife: A Corporation's Corporation

Administrative (Former Employee)
Kennesaw, GA

I worked at CryoLife

ProsGood benefits and favorable compensation, decent work environment, lots of breakrooms. The Christmas party is nice.

ConsAbrasive but not effective security. It's hard to be able to have a family member visit you at work, yet it would be ridiculously easy to walk out the door with boxes of 'sensitive' (I use THAT term pretty loosely) proprietary data or materials. The amount of money they spend on having security guards walk around the building every 15 minutes could be better utilized elsewhere.

Also, what’s the point of tuition reimbursement if one cannot leave work occasionally to take said classes?

Advice to Senior Management1.Do not make it an act of Congress to get a requisition request approved.
2.Tell me what the hell you want me to do and improve on, rather than dance around the issue and have it bite me in the ass later when I have no clue what you’re talking about anymore.
