    Pros

People are friendly, and you get to learn a lot just from being an intern. The overall culture is really chill.

    Cons

You don't want to live in Columbus, IN at your early twenties.

    Pros

Very inclusive culture, big company with lots of opportunities, people were engaged. Culture was very relaxed and progressive. I had a very enjoyable experience working for the company over the summer. Interns are payed well.

    Cons

Columbus isn't the best place to be over the summer. An internship is really a complete reflection of your manager, most intern managers were very good and therefore the intern had a very rewarding and enriching experience

    Advice to Management

Continue what you are doing, put a screening process in (if there already isn't one) for selecting managers for interns. Put together more events to bring interns together

    Pros

A very good work location. Will pay you way above the market pay if they think you are worth it.

    Cons

A culture of having meetings and wasting time is rampant. All roads lead to Columbus Indiana and it is a very boring location

    Pros

Good company with high ethical standards, has done well in economic hard times and well positioned for the future

    Cons

Generally lower salaries, IT (within my area of influence) seems disorganized and has a negative reputation, promotions based on merit are hard to come by

    Advice to Management

Reward employees for earning promotions, promote and post the position being vacated, don't allow jobs to be posted if the hiring manager has his/her mind made up before the job is even posted

    Pros

CUMMINS in general is a good company to start with your career. It embraces different cultures by hiring people from all over the world. Most people in the company is friendly and willing to provide help. The pay is fairly good compared to the coast area when taking expenses into consideration.

    Cons

CUMMINS headquarter is located in Columbus IN, which is a fairly boring small town. You may find peaceful but boring most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Better to organize more events for young professionals to socialize.
Inspire employees to move around and relocate frequently in order not to be bored.

    Pros

Good career opportunities, excellent work life balance

    Cons

Sub par compensation. The justification given for the low salaries is that it does not cost a lot to live in Indiana.
Uninteresting product. Diesel engines should have been replaced by alternative energy sources by now.
