middle managers not strong enough to face TJ

    Middle Manager (Current Employee)
    Bangalore (India)

Prosa) very good exposure to running the company, you will learn about the work done by your manager and managers manager.

    b) Understand business decision making by knowing 360deg picture of running business. interaction with various team and brilliant learning experience.

    c) Good stock options

    d) Brilliant engineers around- you will feel happy about working with top engineers.

Consa) Middle managers do have the guts to tell the truth to TJ. They prefer faking stuff to keep TJ happy than give the realistic picture happening down below.

    b) Work life balance is a goner. You will be asked to attend meetings at 11PM in the night and another one at 7AM in the morning. People do not care for your personal time at all and the motivation method for making people work is a stick and never a carrot. you are expected to attend meetings at any given point in time.

    c) Too many meetings - There will be a meeting to select the set of meetings to have.

    d) Process heavy, a small change in implementation of way of things takes weeks to get approval and your actual task is not reduced. This reduces incentive for people who like to improve things because you are already working 11 hours a day and energy to consider a change is lost.

    e) No trust in people - Smart people who are hired are not trusted.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust people - encourage middle managers to tell the truth. They know the problems better and empower them to fix the problems.
