I have been working at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    8-6pm work schedule
Excellent people: worried about the overall health of the company instead of cranking out a million power point foils to make themselves look good. Honest hard working and commented.
Everything is visual via the memo system: nice for a new ncg

    Cons

Company is large and many people calling into meetings from around the world even on routine meetings, makes office in san jose seem quite and non busy - however this is not true

I have been working at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Working in an ultra high tech company presents lots of challenges but when you are surrounded by smart hardworking individuals anything is possible.

    Cons

Sometimes it is difficult to see the difference between whats important and what is urgent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People, people, people they are your best asset make sure they know it and they are appreciated. I once read "Employees who feel valued gladly will compete in the race, overtake the competition, cross the finish line first, and end up on the medal stand."

I have been working at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Outstanding compensation, great people, challenging projects, cutting edge technology, great opportunities for NCG's to grow their technical toolbox, very strong marketing team

    Cons

Upper management struggles with critical decision making. Constant re-organization - I've had no less than 10+ managers in the 10+ years working here. Cutting edge technology divisions are struggling financially. Sales and Marketing team is way too lean.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Diversify - don't put all your eggs in one giant basket.

I worked at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You will learn what a company should look like. The computerized documentation system for new product introduction is the best I have ever worked with.

    Cons

Highly unstable department configuration. For tactical reasons the company reorganizes very quickly when product line begin to fail. The inside political fighting is very vicious.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put all specs on spreadsheet forms. The existing documentation system that I developed for NPI vsystems needs to be fullly automated.

Very aggressive, company starts at 8AM and work till you have work. Have to work in different time zones, so that means u almost log on during the nights.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open to working mom concerns. Not every mom can get to work at 8AM.
