Great company with great benefits & good culture

Risk Management Specialist (Current Employee) Overland Park, KS

ProsGreat leadership team and continuing to improve. World class innovation and industry leading information and insight. The best in the business.

ConsNo local office in many locations. While there are lots of benefits to being a home worker, thee are drawbacks as well. Travel can get tiresome after months of the routine.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep innovating. Do not become complacent or accept the status quo.

The Small Business segment is getting hammered

Relationship Manager (Current Employee) Center Valley, PA

ProsGood people. Good work life balance. New CEO who wants to take the company in the right direction

ConsNo new innovation and years of over charging customers is now coming back to bite the company. Data is more easily attainable no. D&B is not the only player on the block but charges like they are. Pricing of the products is a huge issue.
They are like a big ship that sees the iceberg ahead but does not know how to turn. They are trying to turn now but are already feeling glancing blows. Quota is hard/next to impossible to obtain since customer constantly drop for much lower prices. No real innovation to replace.. Sales reps just move from dept to dept to avoid getting laid off.

Advice to Senior ManagementGood luck.... Lower pricing to start competing and loss revenue or continue on the same downward trend

D&B has the potential to be a great company if we can execute on our new CEO's vision

Relationship Manager (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsIncredible assets; Good working environment; Good work life-balance; D&B is changing it's culture to become a much more interesting/exciting place to be.

ConsSales compensation plan is punitive; Very demotivating; Not sure if I can afford to work for D&B in this environment. Need a greater focus on the customer experience; Turn-around times for fixing data quality issues, contract turn-around time, finance review, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe vision is great. The efforts that are being made to change the culture are working. The devil is in the details and there are some old processes that need to be changed in order for us to be world class.

Empty promises and the definition of Insanity

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Short Hills, NJ

Prosrelaxed work atmosphere, Nice area, flexible hours, vast resources.

ConsLittle transparency, low pay, communication, lack of direction, lack of innovation.

Advice to Senior ManagementEven though the president may change, if the government stays 90% the same, then change is just a word.
Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, while expecting different results.

Overall a good company with some challenges

Sales and Marketing Specialist (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsD&B tries to do its best with providing the necessary support and tries to listen to its employees for constant feedback. Sales culture has many opportunities for improvement, but overall compared to many other companies, it still stands above the rest when it comes to how they treat sales people within the Fortune 500 sector.

ConsTime off is good with 3 weeks vacation first full year. Growth options are good along with excellent training.

Advice to Senior ManagementPush down the walls of the organization to make it easier to sell. Internal administrative processes and work flow need to be greatly improved to ensure that sales people are not overwhelmed doing only post customer support and administrative type work.

Food in cafe is provided at a subsidized rate which is the best thing. I really enjoy working a lot here. So much learning to do...

ConsNew budget is provided every 3 months, so you never really know what's coming up next in your job status. but apart from this there could me more, but I am not yet exposed to it.

Biz that's trapped in the past

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNot many - work from home so you don't have to deal with incompetent supervisors

ConsClearly upper management has no understanding of modern work environments or how to innovate. Too busy fixing what's broken instead of building better.

Advice to Senior ManagementRun for the gates

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
