    Pros

    - Job Security
    - Great coworkers

    Cons

    - Job security is both good and bad. Its good for knowing you dont have to worry about being fired or losing your job even when the economy is down. It's bad because people that are not capable of doing their job also have job security. This leads to more capable people having to picking up extra work to make up for those that are not capable.

    - HVAC department will work employees to the bone. New faces all the time because turn over is so great.

    Advice to Management

    Stop ignoring the problems that are very clearly in front of you

    Pros

    I used to think there might be some, not anymore. Steady pay until I can find another job.

    Cons

    Total dis-involvement from executive level. Crisis management is the normal way of operation. Lack of trust. Lack of communication. More resources given over to finding who to place blame with than to resolving the crisis of the hour. No training. No reliable communication from leadership. Serious lack of trust in management. All leaders are moving in different directions. All risk and crisis management is reactionary. I hear members of the so-called leadership team openly bad mouth and disparage the company and senior management and executives. Very low morale and low quality of life. Equipment is neglected and the TPM/PM systems are a joke at best. If production is threatened in any way; safety, maintenance, and any proactive plan will be summarily pushed aside without hesitation. I have heard the maintenance group repeatedly complain that they want to fix breakdowns properly, but the "DENSO Way" has become just get it running vice making a permanent repair.

    Advice to Management

    It is far to late for the current management/executive hierarchy to learn from and fix the problems they have created. Only the Japanese finally saying Jūbun'na! and cleaning out some offices soon can keep Denso from becoming another Delphi.

    Pros

    Lots of Work, Company provided tools. Company provided Uniform.

    Cons

    Company Managment doesn't understand Maintenance (Skilled Trades) needs. Compare pay with only Automotive Companies. Maintenance(Skilled Trades) is not tied to Automotive ONLY. Maintenance(Skilled Trades) is only tied to a machine. A Tier 1 company should base pay off of surrounding area. Top Pay should be reached within a short time. Denso has a "Qualification Card". All Skilled Trades are already Qualified!! We don't need Denso Management to tell us that!! We already went thru our Apprenticeship. Denso Management is spreading rumors of a 12 hour shifts to get rid of overtime. Management can't manage their people. So instaed of dealing with the individual, they punish everyone. Send mass email to all, instead of dealing with that individual.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of Qual Card!! Base pay on Surrounding Companies. Make top pay with in a year. Communicate. Stop spreading rumors (Management). Deal with their issues and stop punishing everyone.

    Pros

    better than average machienist pay

    Cons

    no life, lots of overtime

    Advice to Management

    your employees need a life outside of work. they cant continually run twelve hour days seven days a week

    Wrote my own ticket to move up just got to the top

    When I moved up to Sr. quality engineer there was nothing else for me to do so had to leave the company

    Pros

    I get a GREAT end of year bonus, and 2 extra weeks a year off usually for the 4th of July and Christmas.

    Cons

    The top out pay for maintenance has only risen less than a dollar in 5 years. The maintenance management has been promoted from within and struggle. Technicians with broader skills and styles are leaving because of the incompatibility with the management and no chance of promotion. Look at some of the GREAT leaders that have stepped down. NO DEPARTMENT SENIORITY. How can you bring someone from production with ZERO maintenance experience through an apprenticeship and then in 3 years give them access to 1st shift while you have higher skilled workers with 15 plus years in maintenance forced to stay on 2nd or 3rd. Rules prevent SHIFT TO SHIFT in a transfer to another area unless you have been at the same job post for 10 years. So you quit instead of finding happiness in another building possibly. Why would any company want to prevent an employee from moving to the same shift if it is an off-shift anyway?

    Advice to Management

    Someone in Japan needs to get involved. Advisers should be present to rebuild the original Denso methods. Zone maintenance on a lean skeleton crew is insane. 201, 202, and 203 are falling apart in maintenance. You do not have real technicians running the show. You have unrealistic goals you have set with your manpower and or quality of technicians in place. You have selfish leadership in place. I know what is said in exit interviews. Has anyone done anything about it? Of course not. That is why Green Mountain is snatching up your experienced base. Time for a change in all management!

    Pros

    Good opportunity of learning technically and management.

    Cons

    Bad salaries compared to others specially it is a huge company.
    Lack of promotion system.

    Advice to Management

    Think about life expenses and compare your staff salary schemes with the local companies.
    Hold your experienced employees and promote them.

    Pros

    One of the most prestigious company in the industry.
    Relatively competitive salary.

    Cons

    Slow speed on promotion for highly talented employees.
    Employees other than Japanese do not get promoted that often.

    Advice to Management

    They need to start looking at us and employees around the globe as equal as they are paying attention to their employees in Japan.
    More English speaking talented staffs are needed.
