I have been working at DaVita full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They offer quite an array of teaching materials for education.

    Cons

with such a large company, the staffing issues are the most complex and does not leave much room for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Incentives for float pool to grow and assist current staff would make a world of difference for morale.

I have been working at DaVita full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I learned a lot of medical skills during my internship, its easy, but hard too, like during treatment sessions for patients you have to stay moving , stocking supplies, checking vitals of all your patients , total & complete dedication your skill set

    Cons

The downside is the long hours you start your day at 4:00 am and it ends at 6:00 pm this job isn't for the cry baby's
You become a medical technician not just in words or title.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Davita is a great place to work, it has diversity within its organization. Thankful for the opportunity to be trained within there facilities.

    Pros

Opportunity for advancement, Competitive salary with generous bonus program. Upper management is genuinely interested in and promotes a culture of caring in teammates.

    Cons

Like all healthcare companies DaVita is forced to balance dwindling health care dollars with exceptional patient care and employee compensation.. Time management skills at the clinic level are a must,

I have been working at DaVita full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Davita had heart, it cares for you as a person, not just an employee. There are plenty of growth opportunities and upward mobility. They encourage you to get in the driver's seat and steer your career wherever you want it to go. I have worked for the company over 10 years, it's been challenging in rewarding way and fulfilling both personally and professionally! Extremely progressive, patient centered, quality care!

    Cons

Like anywhere, nothing is perfect and people will be people. At times we tolerate poor performance way too long.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too many meetings and conference calls can at times limit a managers ability to actually lead.

I worked at DaVita part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Staff were so friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and wonderful to work for. Salary was competitive and they offer a 401K plan. If someone did not know an answer, we found it out. We all built wonderful rapports with each other and worked as a team!

    Cons

I did not experience any cons. I guess if I had one, it would be to not care for the patients but that is impossible! It was sad to see one of my patients sick, need surgery, or pass. My patients became part of my family!

I have been working at DaVita full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Healthcare midlevel management is a difficult profession. Having spent years doing hospital unit management DaVita has been a breath of fresh air. The company truly lives its Mission, Vision, and Values. Integrity is visible everyday as evidenced by transparency surrounding daily operational and clinical metrics. As an Administrator you clearly know what you are working to achieve. Promotions are available and management continuing education offered and encouraged. Bonuses are attached to hitting and exceeding established annual goals. It is a fun place to work and as an administrator creating a fun team environment is an expectation.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be difficult as you are truly the "CEO" of your clinic. If you develop a strong team you can relax a bit more on your days off, but the job really never goes away. Regional Operation Directors have too many clinics to oversee which leads to difficulty in getting support and feedback at the facility level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although we all know that the healthcare environment is constantly changing and financial constraints affect all that we do, having new programs and program changes constantly hitting the clinic makes the stress level for the FA at times intolerable. Research shows that strong team environments and teams that feel they have a voice is what moves company into the Best Places To Work. If the team feels like they have just one "new" metric, "new" program after another, there is no time left for the FA to focus on team development and fun.

    Cons

They sure keep you busy, and if you love what you do, it is ok...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know, they heard it so many times, yet 401 K match would be nice, besides profit sharing

I have been working at DaVita

    Pros

Flexible hours. Excellent training. Resource help great. Generous vacation accrual. Team work actually exists! Uniforms provided.

    Cons

Have to find my own coverage when sick.
If I'm too sick to work I'm too sick to call all over for coverage.
Pay is too low for responsibility expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My personal boss.....don't twist information you received into negative opinions/judgements/labels.

    Pros

Unique culture, opportunities for professional development, opportunity to be part of a great mission, wonderful training programs.

    Cons

Some non-traditional benefits are difficult for some to understand, differential pay structure (best performers are well-compensated, not really a con...).
