I worked at Dairy Queen full-time

    Pros

Working for one of their Dairy Queen stores can be a good opportunity. There are great people mixed in there and for being fast food, its a fun restaurant.

    Cons

Owners are very promising about career advancements and job perks. Once they get you where they want you in their company, you mean nothing to them. Money is all they care about. Very two-faced to employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees better and you will see a lot better results.

I have been working at Dairy Queen

    Pros

Always something to do, love intracting with the customers, flexible scheduling and making sandwiches.

    Cons

Dealing with diffuclted customers and closing a monstrous sandwich.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people who want to work and care about work. Make sure Subway rules are enforce and watch employees more carefully.

    I worked at Dairy Queen

    Pros

The people were great. Honestly that's about the only thing that I can say I liked about it.

    Cons

Long hours, no air conditioning which made for ice cream melting the second you give it to someone, extremely busy, drama, would always go home covered in ice cream and smell like nasty food.

    I worked at Dairy Queen

    Pros

The pros would have to be the people I worked with were friendly and the work was pretty easy since it is fast food.

    Cons

The quite a few cons to the job. One being is that the pay was only minimum wage and on top of that the shift was only a few hours long (from 7pm-10pm). During the business hours so I was doing a lot of work for little pay. But all of that I can put aside and forget about, it was my boss that really did it for me. He was racist to the customers and then sexist to the employees. I mean this guy literally did and say whatever he wanted. I don't know if this was due to all the Dairy Queens being individually owned or what but it was bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look in better to the people running your stores because they could give your company a bad image if you're not careful.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Worked with my high school schedule, generally a clean place to work, discounts on ice cream and hot meals.

    Cons

Management would play on Facebook and definitely played favorites. They often gossiped about other employees and you were always on call every weekend. Often times I worked more than the legal 20 hours for a high school student. No benefits for pt or ft employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your managers to be hard working and treat people with fairness. Offer benefits of some sort.

I have been working at Dairy Queen full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Free ice cream and food!

    Cons

You gain weight and people get really cranky about their ice cream.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be managers. Every place I've worked lacked oversight.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I liked the people I worked with, and I met my boyfriend there. I got discounts on ice cream.

    Cons

I had to clean the entire store at night when there were two people there because all the other workers were slow and incompetent. All the ice cream machines were old and the ice cream came out so slowly.

I have been working at Dairy Queen part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

the only perks were half off food and easy to get time off

    Cons

poor training poor management horrible staff no one wanted to work and would only work you 30 hours a week because if you worked over that they would have to offer youtohealth care and are really cheap and don't care about their employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

advice to management would be to get off your butts and stop stealing money from the employees tills and help your employees when they are getting slammed and are by them selves they can't expo food or ice cream when they have 20 customers waiting to order their food

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Generally, the people you work with are pretty cool. If you like fast paced work, you'll love it. If you're in high school, you'll probably fit right in with the maturity level of other employees.

    Cons

Good luck advancing, you'll be expected to come in and cover everyones shift plus you're own. Don't expect free food, you probably won't get any, and taking food that's expired or dropped is considered theft.
