    Pros

great employees and work/life balance; great learning experience; work with very tech savvy engineers and techs

    Cons

not much room for growth in the sales division; lack of upper management direction; upper management only concerned about top sectors where money is driven; not much social interaction with employees as a remote employee

    Advice to Management

listen more to your lower level sales people as they are the ones driving sales and business

    Pros

College student employees are given a large amount of responsibility, which provides a lot of good work experience.

    Cons

Poor management and no opportunity for upward movement within the company. The vast majority of position changes within the company are lateral movements.

    Advice to Management

Don't allow just anyone to become a manager. Ensure that your "managers" actually have managerial capabilities before allowing them to oversee 5-10 employees.

    Pros

Most of the time they are willing to work around your class schedule. As a student worker you get handed real responsibilites you can grow from.

    Cons

Require a minimum of 20 hrs per week which can get a bit hard if you have a busy class schedule.

    Pros

Dak is a company centered on good morals and hard work ethic. It is also an engineering-focused company, which is great for product development, but does not provide the greatest leadership for sales and marketing efforts. Dak may be a leader in the LED video industry, but many of its competitors are massive corporations like Mitsubishi which win many large projects here and there but offer dismal support. Dak has unmatched service and support resources.

    Cons

The pay is notoriously weak, being based in south dakota doesn't really help the cause. Many old-timers have the mindset that the domestic market will continue to provide revenue and growth for the company but it's obvious that the international market is where most of the future growth is held. Project management and customer service are areas that need to be greatly improved if the growth is going to continue. Almost everyone in Dak is internally promoted or changes job roles every few years, which may be good for professional growth, but the company loses productivity as a result. Turnover in many roles is chronic. Hours I work are wildly variable, weekends, holidays, nights, it makes your personal life rather difficult or non-existent.
