    Pros

The professional development at DISD is great and the opportunities to move up are endless if you have the right mentor and support. Compared to other districts, Dallas starting pay is very competitive.

    Cons

The benefits program is horrible. I would probably do better paying my own benefits out of pocket rather than opting to partner with DISD.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the cost of the benefits package; teachers already do not make the highest of salaries. Try to remember that if the teachers are happy, they will be much more productive for the students that they teach.

    Pros

The pay and benefits are pretty decent for new educators. The compensation for working for more than 5 years in science or math is fantastic and a huge bonus.

    Cons

Classes and schools are large. My first couple years my classes averaged about 28 and I had to teach 6 sections. It's a lot of paperwork and sometimes seems like there is always change. We don't stick with one idea long enough to even give it time to be successful.

    Advice to Management

    Stick with some ideas.
