  • Very process driven the Danaher Business System really works (in 9 reviews)

  • Good benefits and for the most part the culture is okay but it can be a bit demanding (in 6 reviews)

Cons
  • Work / Life Balance is horrible they expect you to work whenever they say but you unable to carry any time off over to the next year (in 14 reviews)

    Pros

    Learn the Lean / Toyota production system type tools in short order. If you aren't satisfied in your current role, wait six months for the next reorg and you'll be doing something different. Great place for the metric driven, technical personality. The top execs know the business well and are very engaged.

    Cons

    Not well suited for people who don't want their dirty laundry laid out in the wall for all to see and sometimes help fix. However, the accountability is lacking because turnover is so high that they can't afford to lose the skills the low performers possess. Plan on working Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve building product even if you are office staff to avoid hiring more headcount.

    Advice to Management

    I can go to them directly and don't need this forum to do it.

    - Opportunity for advancement if placed in the correct op-co - Career development is made a priority for recent grads

    Cons

    -Small opco's lack opportunity and advancement -Aggressive culture if you are not use to it

    Pros

    Employees are encouraged to strive for excellence at all times which also motivates personal growth. There are many opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge as well as training. Many great people work there, the most enjoyable part of the job was to be around such wonderful people.

    Cons

    Due to the constant pressure the company puts on their employees it is a very stressful to be an employee there. Employees are required to conduct many self assessments each year but are rarely rewarded for their efforts.

    Pros

    Once you're in middle management for one of the operating companies, you get good benefits and opportunities to really drive change in the business

    Cons

    Certain businesses are not really growth companies. strategy and direction is either stagnant or changes wildly every year

    Good company that typically buys smaller companies.... If your company is doing well they leave you alone. Fairpay, good benefits.

    It doesn't value sales people like they should.

    Great place to work as long as your boss is fair.

    working on hi technology products is great experience. Constant exposure to a challenging and ever changing requirements.

    Cons

    the place can be high strung work hours, poor work life balance, cliques, back biting. having a life is a disadvantage.
