    Pros

The Danaher Benefit package is very good, employees have the ability to purchase company stock with their 401K plan. PTO time off is very generous

    Cons

understaffed IT department for some work sites, some work sites only have 1 single IT staff member onsite which makes it difficult to take PTO time off. Some worksites do not have someone onsite if they are within driving distance of another work site.

    Advice to Management

create more redundancy for each work site so if a key system goes down such as corporate email server or other hosted systems that there is a degree of autonomy that allows other sites to continue to function until the main system is restored. There should be a minimum of 2 IT team members for each facility, especially if that location requires their IT team to be on-call.

    Pros

Strong stock performance -- obviously great for shareholders. Very operations focused... cutthroat when it comes to operating efficiently with minimal resources. Generally flat hierarchy.

    Cons

Operating with minimal resources. Oftentimes the perception that you're not looked after as an employee. Little to no recognition for great work.

    Advice to Management

Stretch goals should truly be stretch -- not impossible. Take care of profit/shareholders first... but your employees and associates ALWAYS.

The people that work there are the hardest working people.

Too much of a numbers game. More concerned with shareholders that employees and their development.

    Pros

Employees are provided opportunities to learn.

    Cons

Internal candidates are often promoted, but with little monetary gain.

    Advice to Management

Innovation is stiffled by the arrogance of the senior management

I worked at Danaher full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very smart peers. I worked with inventors and geniuses on a daily basis. I don't mean people who pretend to know alot, I am referring to people that have something to do with the invention of the Internet....that kind of smart. I miss this the most. At my current job, I'm the mentor. This is not a good thing.

    Cons

-Cheap base pay. Bottom of the ladder in the industry from a pay standpoint. They offered a very nice bump in pay when I turned in my resignation but it didn't come close to the new job offer. -won't loosen purse strings and update infrastructure. -too many managers.

    Advice to Management

    Keep my stock steady.

I worked at Danaher as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of friendly employees Treated an intern well Gave me a serious project as a intern

    Cons

Corporate control Outsourcing Doesn't have room for engineers to move up

    Advice to Management

No big advice from an intern! Company constantly being restructured. Too much change for a productive environment. Shaky ground discourages the employees.

I worked at Danaher full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, additional opportunities, Lean, safe work environment

    Cons

Work never stops Goals are set so high, you are meant not to hit them Unless you are a "high potential" there is no clear path for advancement - and it is largely based on your individual manager as to how well you can do here.

    Advice to Management

More career counseling and defined goals please.

I worked at Danaher full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Able to get things changed quickly, easy to move to different roles. Sister companies offer a ton of opportunity if you are willing to move.

    Cons

Very high turnover, maybe due to remote location. This location is a cash cow with little investment in plant and equipment. There seemed to be a preference for ex-military for management promotions.

I worked at Danaher full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Better to invest in DHR They apply DBS (similar to the Toyota Way) to all newly acquired OpCo's which drives their success

    Cons

Be prepared to assume two or three roles if you remain for any period of time after the acquistion, The company really doesn't invest in R&D. The growth comes from aquisition and some new products.

    Advice to Management

I don't believe the best team wins as per the company philosophy states.
