    Pros

After a few months of employment, it became clear there really aren't any pros with this company in its current state.

    Cons

Datalink pays no salary to it's sales people. Sales people are paid via commissions only. Then, they don't pay commissions until 30 days after the company gets paid. It can take 6 months to a year for an employee to get paid, and that's if you're lucky. Datalink forces all sales people to sign an employment contract that allows the company to refuse to pay commissions if they so choose. They regularly refuse to pay employees commissions earned and then use these millions of dollars of profit to improve their bottom line prior to reporting their numbers.

    Advice to Management

No hope for this company with the current management team in place. The worse in the industry and deserving of a class action lawsuit.

    Pros

Pay was higher than average for entry-level. Introduction to enterprise solutions.

    Cons

Send you to training for a week, then expect you to know everything. There is no help for new hires. You have to do support over phone; there is not remote support. Constant boredom driven by frustration. Internal culture is terrible; employees complained about how bad it was on my first day. One-call is not a real support solution. Nobody cares. Nobody had any actual interest in technology.

    Advice to Management

Don't pigeonhole talent. 3% pay increases are not motivating factors for long-term employment; there needs to be a career path within the company. Don't support solutions that you can't support.

    Pros

If you are familiar with one of the technologies that Datalink has oversold and under-delivered on qualified employees to actually work on that technology you are gold, gold Jerry...

    Cons

Sometimes it take Datalink a while to comprehend that employees are working a side job on Datalink's dime but in the end that all sorts itself out...

    Advice to Management

Just keep doin' what you're doin'!

    Pros

Good co-workers among the rank and file.

    Cons

Management is clueless. Hours are 8:30-5:00 for some positions, but work exceeds those hours and you need management approval for "OT" that goes beyond 5pm. Management rarely approves OT since they receive bonuses if they stay within budget. Unless someone wants to be absolutely buried in work for pay that doesn't justify that work, they have to work beyond 5pm.

    Advice to Management

Get over yourselves. You're overcompensated for being underqualified. A big ego and a bigger pay check off of the backs who TRULY do the work that get you your numbers doesn't compensate for a lack of intelligence or lack of spine.
