Dealertrack is a face-paced, growing technology company that is transforming automotive retail. From day one I have been surrounded by positive energy and work with extremely talented team members who share a wealth of knowledge! The benefits are great and the perks are amazing. If you enjoy working hard and appreciate change, there is a lot of career opportunities and upward movement!

    Cons

One challenge has been getting to know and understand all the products Dealertrack has to offer.

I have been working at Dealertrack Technologies full-time

    Pros

Company is forward thinking, not too much red tape, embracing modern software design principles. Management is hands-off, work from home policy is lenient, standard vacation time and decent benefits.

    Cons

Stuck in a hard place to attract good software talent (20 miles east of Silicon Alley) but doing a good job anyway.

    Advice to Management

Try to do a better job attracting top talent away from NYC.

I have been working at Dealertrack Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have worked so hard to get me a schedule and a way to go to school and work here full-time. The management and the supervisors are very personable and willing to work with you. You learn a lot about computer software in this job. They have a lot of days where they give you free food, which is pretty rad. They praise employees quite a bit. I love it here!

    Cons

Cannot work part-time, you need to take a full-time position in order to be hired on as an employee. This is understandable, but if I want to further my education and work for Dealertrack in the future, it may be too difficult to work full-time and do school full-time.

    Advice to Management

Get on the phones with us more often. I feel that would help us to be better and giving the best customer service possible.

I have been working at Dealertrack Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Rapid acquisition has made this company an interesting place to work. Plenty of room to grow if you are willing to put the political hours necessary.

    Cons

Lack of communication across the silos of the business, and confusing accountability rules make it easy for mediocrity to be the standard in middle management.

    Advice to Management

stop protecting and start leading. It will go a long way to building trust and stop the brain drain currently happening.
