I have been working at Dealertrack Technologies

    Pros

Laidback, fun company culture. Good work life balance. I genuinely like all of my co-workers. Not so micromanaging
Good health benefits (like, really good)
    401k match

    Cons

    Pay is below standard
internal processes are a constant mess
With so many different products, all of the products are silo-ed and people don't know how each one of them works. Yet, the vision is to be "One Dealertrack" with no one knowing how each 1 of the products works within their own department.
    No career growth.

Current Employee - Network Analyst in Groton, CT

I have been working at Dealertrack Technologies full-time

    Pros

As the company is in a rapid period of acquisition, roles and duties can be poorly defined. Network Analysts spend much of their time assisting with help desk/hardware support issues. There is a lot of room for personal development (more or less depending on the shift you work), and at least in the Groton office, management encourages personal development exercises.

Dealertrack will reimburse tuition, and pay for certifications related to the field in which you work.

    Cons

I haven't found any. Sometimes you will be required to work overtime, but as an hourly employee with free time on his hands, this doesn't bother me. As a salaried employee with a busy personal life, I could see how it would be detrimental.

    Pros

Good benefits, good work/life. Opportunities to advance.

    Cons

"Cool kid club" culture at Dealer.com was very strong before acquisition was really strong. And horrible. Hopefully this will change under new company. Not a "Con" yet, but I'm still keeping my eyes open.

I have been working at Dealertrack Technologies as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Heavy on the competitive acquisition side and with that come many changes. The company has evolved to the extent that it is a heavy player in the niche industry.

    Cons

With acquisitions come changes, it can be a challenge to form teams to keep all of the talent in place. Overall, more pro's than cons.

    Pros

Really love working here. Love the flexibility my role offers. As well as the company being very understanding that we all need work/life balance. Great opportunity for growth here.

    Cons

Some of the company needs a little bit more transparency with it's employees, however, I understand why they don't do that as much. Just a catch-22 with us here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More transparency.
