    You get the brand name 'Deloitte' placed on your resume but their good corporate reputation is not deserved.


    Your impressions of Deloitte changes dramatically once you commence employment. There is no time for chatter or social interaction of any kind with other staff members because everybody is too busy and stressed out after working a 12 hour day. For some reason Partners are treated like gods and you are constantly under daily surveillance from Directors pressuring you with unrealistic work loads within deadlines that are ridiculous. Deloitte are stingy and no budget is provided, meaning you are under resourced most of the time. After working hard all year you get to Christmas and the entire department is still working till 6pm on Christmas eve. Then comes performance review time where you hope to get a pay rise for your hard earned efforts. Deloitte is well known to order management to "make up" under performance issues to avoid any pay rises for its top performing staff. It also helps at Deloitte if you are a 'yes' man or woman, especially at middle management level - the last thing that upper management wants is someone that actually has an opinion and has the courage to express it! Oh and the so called corporate credit card, well you have to take that out in your own name and you are out of pocket for a month until Deloitte pays you back your work expenses.

    Advice to Management

    Take a look at the lack of work life balance placed on staff and then ask why staff turnover is rife. For an organisation that does very well financially, how about paying competitive salaries.
