    Pros

    - Diverse clients - Great people - Good training opportunity

    Cons

    - Silo within organisation - You only get promoted based on who you know and people standing up for you and not based on merit and experience - Management are often no where to be seen or out of touch with employees - When management is pressed they shutdown and won't answer the hard questions

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your employee's and don't make the whole experience about personality and who is more popular.

    Pros

Intellectually stimulating. Excellent range of work and clients. Chance to work with 'top end of town' corporate clients. Good team. Smart people. Self-motivation. Chance to make your own agenda.

    Cons

A lot of pressure. Difficult targets. Stressful. Long hours. Lots of people suffering stress and anxiety. Hard to balance client work with business development.

    Advice to Management

Don't try and work people into the ground - make the work sustainable and enjoyable. If the volume of work was lower, this would be one of the best jobs in the world.

    Pros

Some good people, inovation is strong, good set of clients.

    Cons

To many to list. Poor pay, v poor local leadership - staff are treated with contempt, bulling wildly accepted means of managemnt. Progression: Deloitte dangles carrots making staff think a path to partner is real- the reality is that the carrot does not exist. The partnership will use every bit of energy you have (with little reward or thanks) until you fail to deliver at which point they will spit you out. If you have no life, want to wake each night worrying - this is the place to be.

    Advice to Management

Your staff are your life blood, treat them with respect.

    Pros

Deloitte was full of talented individuals, with diverse work to engage in, a big pipeline of projects, established methodologies that we readily able to be applied.

    Cons

This wasn't exactly what i signed up for. As a consultant, you are assigned to projects based on business needs, not on your skills and abilities. There is a lack of focus on assigning the right talent to the right projects, and the individuals suffer as a a result. Deloitte regularly indoctrinates that they only hire the best and brightest, so that leaves little comfort level for individuals to address their dissatisfaction with the "system." People basically then "take it on the chin" until they are simply ready to walk out the door. Lacking in strategic work and skills, even though they advertise that they are one of the biggest in the market for such expertise.

    Advice to Management

Get more involved in what the day-to-day of consulting is for your teams. Pitch and price the engagements properly so they are adequately staffed. Don't let your underbidding of the projects come out of the backs of your hard-working employees, take it off your profitability lines. Attrition will be hitting hard, and sooner than you know, if you don't start taking care of your people. Your best and brightest WILL leave if they continue to burn at the rates they are.
