I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and generous paternity leave. Good to have on a resume.

    Cons

You have to sell yourself, no work life balance, lack of vision by the partners in the healthcare space. No regard for family.

    Advice to Management

Experienced hires do not have PowerPoint engrained in their veins. You need to mentor new hires. Place them with clients that truly fit the reason you hired them in the first place. Senior managers and partners truly need to teach and be there for people they take into their projects.

  2. Too many hours, never kept their word

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Deloitte University, everyone you work with is the same age as you, you learn a lot for a young 20-something right out of college.

    Cons

Too many hours for such horrible pay, turnover impacts you more than you think. Their performance rating system is crap and you will always get screwed over.

    Advice to Management

Care about the Staff and seniors under you, without them none of the work will be done.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Globally respected company. Access to professional network. Exposure to top tier professionals. Great PTO.

    Cons

Hours are horrendous in from Jan - Apr. Slow and boring in the summer. Pay is painfully low for the work. Work experience gained is very niche/siloed - it all points toward Controller positions.

    Advice to Management

Compensate people for the work they are doing in the now; relying on other companies to value Big Four experience with a large pay increase (without practical experience) is pretentious.

    Pros

    - Exposure to a lot of industries and big name organizations - Great deal of learning experience, with virtually unlimited resources at disposal

    Cons

    - work hours are horrible. Forget about work/life/and anything else balance. - Great deal of politics in Audit, to play and to deal with

    Advice to Management

Connect with people, don't be so out of touch from the real issues of the organization and people's morale.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great learning experience; smart, motivated colleagues; ability to work across industries and service areas

    Cons

Lots of talk about great culture, fun place to work, but in reality this is not the case. Projects are either too short in duration (<1 month) or too long (>8 months); unpredictable travel schedule; too many over-promises to clients. Up or out culture adversely affects those who receive unfair reviews

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in the culture; management should think about how annual reviews are performed;

I worked at Deloitte (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people, good culture, plenty of work challenges. Close to good restaurants, airport, Washington DC venues, and good views of the airport. Management is good and co-workers are easy to work with. Very structured environment due to military background and structure. Its the nature of the work and people that come to work here.

    Cons

Location and parking is an issue- Traffic is heavy during peak times- suggest metro but you still will have to walk to the building in good and inclement weather. Salaries are typical for government contracts and with the current market being what it is for the government contracts, salaries haven't grown that much. Company hasn't grown to the size of normal government contractors and I often wonder why they have always stayed the same size since years ago?

    Pros

Five weeks of PTO i.e Paid Time Off / Vacation besides the thirteen holidays in the US. Good only for career starters and not really for experienced hires. Experiences hires better stay away if you dont have prior Big4 consulting experience.

    Cons

Good only for career starters and not really for experienced hires. Experiences hires better stay away if you dont have prior Big4 consulting experience.
