    Pros

Learn tons on subject matter, leadership and managing cross-functional teams. If you get on a project with a good team and leadership, it's mostly good. Travel perks are good (can travel to other places besides home for the weekend for the same money), so if you are young and want to take advantage of it, you can see a lot of the world.

    Cons

Work-life balance - requirements around client work, firm initiatives, people development, learning etc. Need to do at minimum 45 hrs client work and handle all the other activities in addition. Also, add travel hours (from personal time) every Monday and Thursday. You will be on a fast train through life!
Political - need to manage up big time and don't expect understanding.

    Pros

A great place to begin your career if you have no strings. For traditional graduates, Deloitte has the potential to be a great place to start your career. You will be trained by the best and will have a high paying, and mostly exciting career with great upward mobility.

    Cons

The expectation is that you will prioritize you life around your job. You are expected to do client work, company work, spend time networking, and then enjoy work/life balance with whatever is left. Essentially, if you have any outside obligations besides work, they will be competing and management expects you to pick work...every time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some time talking to companies that actually have achieved work/life balance and consider carefully what is actually realistic to give to your employees.

Bersin is a small subsidiary of Deloitte Consulting and is a good place to work if you like everyone being 100% remote.

    Pros

Compensation for Account Managers is $90K base salary plus commission. Great best practices human capital research which acquits itself well in the marketplace. The interaction with Deloitte Consulting is normally very positive. Having the power of bit brother 'Deloitte' can be leveraged to create a tremendous advantage and access to 'C' level executives.

    Cons

Very small back office/support staff. Immature organization but growing rapidly. Very little training to ramp you up on the research & membership product options. Weak sales strategy on how to compete in the Human Capital Space and displace their main competitor CEB. Also, sales management is suspect and has no defined strategy to build the business. Beware of the independence process you must go through when joining Deloitte. You may be forced to sell some securities due to conflicts...no matter if you gain or lose $$.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a defined strategy to displace the competition and maximize Deloitte relationships.

    Pros

Deloitte takes a chance on young professions looking to learn the right tools to succeed in the finance and accounting world. They provide good on the job training, the tools to further your carrer and great benefits!

    Cons

No one warns you that as an auditor you will be making significantly less than your consultant counterparts (even though we had the same education and are at the same level), you may experience back to back busy seasons and you will not earn any form of a bonus until three years into your career.

    Pros

This is the place to be if you want to grow your career. There are abundant opportunities to get involved and attend training so that you may grow your network and gain new skills.

    Cons

I would say the cons are probably the same across consulting. So things like work-life balance may be an issue for some. Another negative is the transition to variable pay.

    Pros

Working at Deloitte provided ample opportunities for travel. I worked with incredibly intelligent colleagues. I was given opportunity to worry on interesting and complex problems.

    Cons

At times, the expected number of hours needed worked can become excessive. Exceptional work and time spent is rewarded with more work. Work life balance has been transitioned into work life integration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be clear and upfront of your annual expectations and individual project expectations, providing the exact goals that if reached will lead to promotion and success for your managed team.
