    A tale of two extremes...

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat teams and people in support, global network and some great partners.

ConsShoddy pay (although superb if you are a partner) and some awful bullying parters too.

Advice to Senior ManagementThink carefully about your people agenda - you are the worst of the Big 4 in that respect and your turnover will show it - you lose so much great talent regularly.

Dreadful Company, Dreadful Projects and Unhappy people!

Consultant (Current Employee) City of London, England (UK)

ProsYou got paid at the end of the month and thata about it.

Met a handful of really great people, but to be honest the culture breeds a hideous environment to work in and most people appear to be really unhappy or back biting!

    Review of Analyst

Analyst (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsOpportunities for training are varied and accessible.

ConsFor the amount of work, pressure and stress we are put through and for the value we add - we are not compensated adequately.

Advice to Senior ManagementTraining scheme is not well organised, or efficient in terms of making the most of people.

A great company when viewed from a high level however you experience will depend on how your department is managed.

    Senior Associate (Current Employee)

ProsWhen I joined Deloitte I was in a well managed team and was given a great chance to learn and develop my career. With the workload so heavy I quickly developed good working relationships with my colleagues which was based on a common committment to excel and succeed. Please see below for a summary of the good points i have experienced:

    - Great reputation
    - Some great leaders
    - Opportunity to grow and develop
    - Great networking opportunities
    - Chance to work across multiple industries as you can work on multiple engagements
    - Approachable people at all levels
    - Located in central london

ConsOnce you start to develop your internal networks and experience what it is like to work in different departments or teams you quickly realise that whilst there is global policy relating to staff it is really managed at a local level. This means that if you work in a team where the managers do not want encourage personal growth or want to keep costs low then you can miss out on training courses, qualifications and many of the benefits that other people in other teams have access to. Again i have highligted other points that take away from the positive reputation of the company

    - Too many places to hide for those that do not have a strong work ethic
    - You have to play the game to get ahead
    - Some very poor managers as a result of the above

Advice to Senior ManagementPoor management usually derives from a lack of accountability - starting at the senior level.

Dont work here if you have any kind of social life....even a glimmer!

Audit Associate (Former Employee) Manchester, England (UK)

ProsLooks good on CV and salary is good compared with other accountancy programmes.
Working out at clients (away from the office).

ConsOvertime is expected as given, irrespective of commitments outside of work whether it be study, exams, or surprising to many senior staff....a social life.

Alot of travel and away jobs, on average 10 days a month.

Within the office environment people are rude and ignorant and many will not say 'hello' as you walk by. Many people do not possess social skills especially senior management.

Advice to Senior ManagementRespect lower grades of staff and appreciate hard work and good work. Dont take overtime as given without reimbursing their efforts.

The cut throat exam policy means you are playing with people's careers. Give the support and mentoring that you market in your graduate brochure!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
