    Pros

    Decent salary, great benefits, ability to travel and build travel points, impressive professional versatility.

    Cons

    Unpredictable work projects - e.g. some engagements last weeks, or months; each employee is their own company (with their own brand etc) and greater emphasis is therefore placed on networking. If you're not good at networking, become an expert in a particular field or map out a systematic plan to network.

    Pros

    I worked for Deloitte for almost two years and enjoyed my time there, with excellent salary, They have very fair and complete ways of reviewing performance. I would be happy to return to work for this company if I had another opportunity to do so.

    Cons

    I was abruptly let go when unable to locate a project that matched my experience. I felt this was too sudden and further leeway could have been given.

    Advice to Management

    When an employee is unable to locate a project to be assigned to, give him or her a time limit to work with, and advise that after that limit is reached the person would be let go, rather than the first notice also being the final one before termination.

    Pros

    Deloitte has a great culture - very collaborative and diverse. The size also means that Deloitte does everything - you just have to network and find the right people. Our brand also gives us the opportunity to work with some great companies on their toughest business problems.

    Cons

    Deloitte asks a lot - work life balance is still not a great fit. Also, unless you are brought on directly from school the comp and ben is not what it should be.

    Advice to Management

    Management should make sure that they practice what they preach. If we are all about our social values to retain the best talent, then everyone should be able to take those opportunities when they come along.

    Pros

    - Bright colleagues with a passion for excellence - Room to grow if you are able to perform at a high level - Flexibility to take your career in many directions (though mostly within the existing opportunity set) - Opportunity to experience many different projects in a relatively short period of time - Access to brilliant experts in most any field - Very strong corps of Managers and Senior Consultants - Growing diversity among senior leadership (at least gender diversity)

    Cons

    - Bureaucratic processes - Risk averse culture - Way too much fluff in "Firm Initiatives" - Still a strong emphasis on "How Many Hours Did You Put In?" despite messaging to the contrary

    Advice to Management

    - Increase the focus on client delivery. That does not mean passive execution. Rather, we should redirect the energy we put into fluff firm initiatives towards innovating for clients and spreading that knowledge throughout the firm. - Get serious about reducing the emphasis on number/hours put into firm initiatives. Consensus panels are still harping on it. It is foolish to burn good people out on meaningless "contributions." Expect excellence where it matters - driving our business towards advantaged capabilities and positions.

    Pros

    Working at Deloitte is all full of learning professionalism and capacity building. Every assignment is a learning opportunity and every project is another chance to apply your lessons learned for improvement.

    Cons

    Relationship makes sense in a project driven organization to secure a job. There is a corporate learning system that keeps employees busy with mandatory training and tests.

    - Leader in their industries - Some of the smartest, experienced people you will work with - Top brands and client - You can make your own career, company supports moving around every two years if desired - Entrepreneurial culture, if you are willing to put the work in to learn they will let you go to new industries - top in cyber, technology and key industries, work with the best clients and people - Networked culture, if you put the time in to meet people you will go places. - Deloitte is a premium company that requires commitment but they have excellent benefits and perks - Changing work model to offer more opportunities to work from home - Large investment in training and education at every level

    Cons

    - If you don't like networking you won't go far - If you don't want to put the time in to learn, contribute to the company and travel you won't last - If you are not flexible and willing to stretch yourself you will think it is too much work

    Advice to Management

    Have people designate and specialize earlier in their careers so they can focus earlier on industry expertise. Value internal services and training offered more.

    Pros

    Diverse challenges and high expectations for performance; excellent coworkers with interesting backgrounds; and involvement in designing cutting edge business solutions

    Cons

    The job requires a lot of travel and time away from home, which makes it difficult to maintain a high quality of life; each project team is also different, so there is a continual process of improving team performance and adjusting to new workstyles

    Continue to pursue the company's strategic vision and hire top-quality people

    Pros

    -Extremely intelligent colleagues -Interesting and challenging projects where you will continue to learn and grow -Leadership that truly cares about you -Numerous stretch roles and opportunities that many don't get early on in their careers -Great training opportunities (Deloitte University, local learning)

    Cons

    -20% of the people do 80% of the work outside of client work -Heavy emphasis on firm activities and business development -Despite preaching work life fit, it's not a reality for many (the 20-25% who lead firm activities and BD work)

    Advice to Management

    Reward your highest performers, not just in salary/bonus but with unique training opportunities and other recognition.
