I worked at Deloitte as a contractor

    Pros

The company is not as stiff as you would expect - the staff was easy to work with and driven towards success with the highest levels of integrity. High value placed on professionalism and virtual work...

    Cons

Like many places, corporate politics requires to pay attention to subtitle comments, which usually have a deeper meaning behind them. If you hurt a client relationship, expect an immediate and negative consequences. Others in the industry pay more...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more energy on keeping the existing staff over trying to capture the talent from your competitors... Accept that you will need to grow from within instead....

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Of the big four consulting firms, Deloitte probably has the best culture, investment in your training, and support your professional growth, and even your work-life balance Benefits and perks are very competitive. I've met a number of people now who are exiting Booz Allen Hamilton for Deloitte. That says something. From a CEO perspective, the company is aggressive in its focus on competing in the marketplace, too.

    Cons

The only con is that if yo u want to be a big-time manager or even just manage 5+ people, you may have to wait awhile. Deloitte is an awesome place to start a career, though.

Keep up the great work of treating your employees well!!!

I have been working at Deloitte full-time

    Pros

Great opportunities to work in a variety of industries and for a variety of very smart and driven professionals. Great culture of supporting junior staff growth. Structured teams provided a small company feel.

    Cons

Working in consulting means your work can come in waves and sometimes late nights or weekend work is necessary, so flexibility is very important.

    Pros

I enjoyed working with top tier talent who cared about getting things right the first time. Advancement opportunities were available and encouraged. Excellent benefits package and vacation. Lots of programs for advancing women and networking opportunities.

    Cons

Can be tough to stand out. Pressure to work long hours sometimes just for the sake of showing you can...not necessarily because it was required by the workload.
