I have been working at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Initial starting pay is at market rate. Old employees linger (leave via attrition and come back as a bundle/contact employee), so it's good that old knowledge is kept, but there is an unequal disparity within age demographics which eventually will make the company unsustainable.

    Cons

Lack of talent management unless related to a high level staff. Too many layers/matrices to process anything. Benefits continue to dwindle, better off going to Health care market place. Organization is very top heavy as the actual workers have downsized, the portfolio of Vice Presidents has increased dramatically.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep filling your pockets, but don't forget to compensate and care about all the employees that contribute to the company's success.

I worked at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Delphi has very good work-life balance. Family always comes first and getting time off for emergencies or to take care of loved ones is no problem. Rarely did I work over 40 hours per week. Other employees were friendly. Very structured and highly organized work environment.

    Cons

Delphi went through a brutal restructuring that left morale extremely low. When revenue was off, Temporary Layoff was required. There was little room for advancement. Constantly tight budgets meant raises were few and far between, and were very small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take risks to turn around sales and share the wealth with employees to improve morale. Reduce bureaucracy and encourage more creativity. Invest more in marketing to strengthen the brand and improve sales.

    Pros

Good technology company, quality is important, has good people

    Cons

Is becoming overly financially focused and not as much focused on developing people. Because of this it is getting harder to satisfy customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Challenging projects. Interesting portfolio. Most employees are easy to work with. Room for growth. A wide variety of training available. Will pay for classes towards a degree if related to job description.

    Cons

office culture. Not a good home/work balance. Low moral. "Them and us" attitude between salary and hourly employees. Constant pressure to cut costs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees with families are an asset not a liability

I worked at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Diverse employment opportunities and a broad product line.

    Cons

Terrible upper management. Management practices during past several years have sapped the money out of the lower level workers and transferred it to the pockets of the Corporate staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If your job keeps you in meetings all day and you do not interface with the "cubicle workers" on a daily basis, then you are contributing nothing to the company and you should leave.

I have been working at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent benefit package, matched time with company, Christmas break, and other holidays off. Great people to work with and technically competent.

    Cons

Was a great place to work @ one time but management has continued to chase the bottom line. People have left and are not being replaced. The result is vey low morale and a sweat shop type environment. The stress is over whelming and family life does not exist.

I have been working at Delphi full-time

    Pros

Longevity can happen. 401K match is descent.

    Cons

Management Turn-over pushing experienced people out of the way with newer faster models that make a lot of noise, move very fast, make people work faster and then find out they couldn't meet expectations, then blame somebody else Work is buzier. A lot of wheel spinning is the true result. Skipping steps creates potholes. Payscale does not keep up with inflation.
