Great Company to work for with great benefits

Cargo Agent (Current Employee) Detroit, MI

ProsLots of extra opportunities to get involved with communities around the world, travel benefits.

ConsThey promote advancement from within but ends up being quite political as I am sure it is most places. Its not about your performance or skills its about who you know.

Advice to Senior ManagementSpend more time with employees

    Nice place to work

Flight Attendant (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsVery well trained staff and excellent aircraft fleet.

ConsTraining was very thorough, but I had to pay my way through it. The cost was tough since I was technically not employed by Delta and I would not be able to work while I was in training.

Advice to Senior ManagementBeing chosen as a flight attendant, I would have had a better experience if the company would have provided some kind of training salary. We ended up with many people in our class that were still being supported by their parents. When we started working, we had no training for the day to day operations.

    Post merger marginalzation

Airport Customer Service- Below Wing (Current Employee)

    ProsGreat pay and bonuses. Travel

ConsManagement pits work groups against one another. For example benefited v ready reserve, high seniority v low seniority. Favoritism displayed in awarding preferable work schedules.

Advice to Senior ManagementEliminate the Performance Leaders in spoke stations. There function can be done by ALA's and Red-Coats.

Difficult place to make a move!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe travel benefits are excellent, comparable to no other airline. Good working environment with people who care.

ConsWhen you're a Ready Reserve, your efforts are mostly overlooked. I'm a 4 yr RR employee, started at age 20 while in college, finish my degree last yr. I've applied for new positions relative to my degree (with a clean employee record/ sup recommendations) and I've gotten no way. Delta seems to like dummies running their operations instead for training educated employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees with higher education can help propel the company further, place it in a more competitive position, start thinking about advancing people with 2 or 4 yr degrees.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
