I worked at Delta Air Lines (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits...free flight privileges, company pays great portion of insurance, trading days off with coworkers are a plus. Overall good team spirit!

    Cons

Must be able to sit in front of computer and take sales calls 8 hours a day with limited lunch & break times.&

    Advice to Management

None really, most are pretty good at keeping an open door policy. Continue to publicly recognize accomplishments in areas of improvement.

    Pros

Management listens to the Engineers. Clear paths for advancement. Challenging work environment. You really see how your work contributes to the success of the company. Industry leading profit sharing program and great flight benefits. Great team work occurs here when a problem needs to be fixed all the employees work in harmony to solve the problem.

    Cons

Health Insurance is a high deductible plan with expensive premiums. Software tools are not industry leading. Too many and at times contradictory policies and procedures but that is more of a flaw of the regulatory enviornment, FAA mandated rules, then a flaw of the organization. No formal continual education benefit program. Outsourcing of heavy maintenance and lack of over site of vendors is a problem.

    Advice to Management

Improve healthcare benefits. Improve the IT infrastructure and tools as use of existing tools can impact the bottom line. Create an educational benefit program.

    Pros

Flexibility, Good Compensation, Financially Stable, Fortune 500 Company, Great Management, Happy Employees, Superb Benefits, Professional, Committed to Customer Satisfaction.

    Cons

Not the best health care benefits, but who has good health care benefits anymore? Mergers with other airlines have not treated everyone equally.
