ProsCutting edge work, hands on work

ConsNo career plan, upper management cut off, no communication of company performance or goals, employees are only appreciated after they lay down papers

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease try to retain the already lean workforce. Also do market analysis on pay levels and provide more competitive pays.

ProsThe people are great. The divisions are filled with smart hard working staff.

ConsTop management is distant and do not seem to care much about learning the business. Goals are pushed down with little to no thought to reality. There is a high turn over due to the low pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote the right people and not just those that threaten to quit or just complain the most.

    Sweatshop

    (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsWork with some funny and cool people.
    Get free coffee and snacks.
See some famous people come in on occasion.
Learn a ton about the industry and post, be directly in the middle of huge production work.

ConsWork for people that hate their jobs.
    Work for barely livable pay.
Have a hard time moving up unless the "cool kids" like you or unless you kiss ass.
Some people are catty and will turn on you at the drop of a hat.
Get used to your boss taking their stress out on you.. it happens in various departments.
You will see a massive wave of people come and go with your time here.
You will not be trained well because.. yup that's just why so good luck-it's sink or swim.

Advice to Senior ManagementInstead of paying the lower level staff crap, gut the upper management and rearrange staff. Have HR look into people that have been there too long that have high staff turnover in their departments. Offer incentives to your employees. They work very hard and deserve to be praised rather than picked apart.

Sad to see where this company has gone...

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Burbank, CA

ProsSome really great people work there. Benefits are not bad and the 401K is good.

ConsEgotistical, uncaring, senior management who make outrageous deals and then leave it to the lower level employees to figure out how to get it done. (And you better get it done, or YOU are to blame.) They continually cut resources, lay-off great people, make salaried employees work ridiculous hours while scrutinizing hourly employees to make sure they don't go into overtime. They have no care or concern for their clients. The model is to bring in as much work as possible so that when the current clients pull their work, there will be new blood right behind them. It has become a glorified factory where they outsource as much as possible because it's all about saving a dime. So, so sad.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on your current clients and take care of your long-term employees. Stop laying off people who make the highest salaries and utilize their experience and expertise instead.

Extremely overworked unless you are "In" with the Senior brass

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    Pros- Good Benefits
    - Lower/Mid level employees are smart/amazing to work with. Team work is a plus. More experienced employees willing to help less experience in most cases.
    - Bagels on Thursday
    - Nice area with close restaurants
    - Good coffee

Cons- Senior Management takes on any projects/any deadline and expect low levels employees to figure out how to complete it. Even if employees have to work multiple 24hr shifts and 7 to 14 days in a row very often. Senior management leaves by 6pm daily.

    - Management leads as if you owe them something for hiring you instead of encouraging growth.

    - Far too many Senior VP's hired which leads to lay offs of lower level employees to pay for them.

    - HR is only concerned with making Senior Management happy. NOT at all concerned for employees.

    - No real chance for advancement. Upper management hired from outside instead of promoted within.

    - Approved vacation time often cancelled with little to no notice.

Advice to Senior ManagementThis isn't a sweat shop. You are losing extremely talented employees to competitors because of the way you treat people. Not sure how you look in the mirror and think you are good people.

    Too many top level managements

    Senior Software Developer (Current Employee)
    Burbank, CA

ProsOffer competitive salary and that's all

ConsToo many top level managements who are selfish and make decision based on their own benefit.

    Moving Forward with Little Help

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros-Good place to hone skills in Post Production
    -Nice facility
    -Pursues the latest in technology

    Cons-Not enough man power
    -Very little room for advancing

Advice to Senior ManagementPlace value on all of your employees. Happy employees will usually go out of their way to help a company. There is a massive divide between lower level employees and upper level employees that for whatever reason, is unseen.

Potential for being a great company hampered by culture of fear and buck-passing

    Account Manager (Former Employee)
    Burbank, CA

ProsSmart, fun, decent co-workers (for the most part)
A few brilliant technical minds and hard-workers you can totally rely on
Fair but not great benefits and perks

ConsWeirdly negative and fearful vibe in almost every department
Bizarre manufacturing mentality being applied to creative, entertainment business (Sorry, VPs, but Pennsylvania factory methods are just not going to work in Hollywood.)

Advice to Senior ManagementEmbrace the creative industry and free yourselves!!
