I have been working at Dendreon full-time

ProsThe only good thing about this company is their product. Hopefully a buyout will happen soon so they can clean house of senior management

Cons3 reductions in force over the last 3 years. No pipeline

Advice to Senior ManagementYou have already destroyed this company.

Senior Research Associate (Current Employee)

I have been working at Dendreon full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThey pay well, it used to be a fun company to work for.

ConsNo room to grow.
Management plays favorites and promotes wrong people who do nothing.
Management has no idea what is going on.
Misleading on bonuses and raises (non-existent for the most part).

Advice to Senior ManagementFigure out what is going on or people will keep leaving, unless that is what you want, which is definitely the consesnsus among employees.

Could had been a great company

Mfg, Supervisor (Current Employee)

I have been working at Dendreon full-time for more than a year

ProsComp and benefits are great.

ConsManagement has no clue to what they are doing. Because of past RIF's moral is extremely low and people are over worked leaving no work life balance. It's unfortunate our exec leadership do not seem to really know how things are being ran and what people are feeling.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet in touch with your employees. Stop relying on so called directors giving you the details and realize we have a huge problem. Many of the problems are happening because of the Managers and Director level. No communication or respect with the Supervisor and associates

Unstable

Mfg, Supervisor (Current Employee)

I have been working at Dendreon full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat Benefits and Salary. Co-workers are awesome!

ConsThe company has had 2 RIF's in the last couple of years. The company is not stable. I am a Mfg. Supervisor and our direct managers are very incompetent and condescending, Very low low moral, I have never worked at a company where the moral is so low. Horrible culture! No work life balance especially if you work in manufacturing.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet it together. You said you were going to be transparent this time around and that has turned out to be smoke in mirrors

Management is pathetic and the ship is sinking.

Mfg, Supervisor (Former Employee)
Seattle, WA

I worked at Dendreon full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThe location of the corporate offices in Seattle is quite posh and allows for great restaurant visiting and afternoon shopping.

ConsThe management doesn't understand what they're doing, the company has grown too fast and never understood the market. The executive team got greedy and ruined the company.

Advice to Senior Managementget a grip on reality.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.

Senior Research Associate II (Current Employee)
Seattle, WA

I have been working at Dendreon

ProsBenefits are better than most companies. The new VP seems to really care about the science community.

ConsHR is incredibly indecisive, a majority of managers are blind to group problems leading to a dysfunctional and unorganized work environment. I am leaving as soon as possible and in talks with other companies. I have worked here for a few years, and the beginning was great. However, with the way things have changed, I would not recommend this company to my worst enemies.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is no hope for management...sell or start over.

Worst Experience Ever!

Manufacturing Associate II (Current Employee)
Union City, GA

I have been working at Dendreon

ProsIf you are looking for great benefits and comparable compensation Dendeon is the place for you. If that is your ultimate goal then this company is perfect.

ConsThey lie to employees constantly. There is no stabilioty whatsoever. They tell you you will get paid one thing and pay you something else. There is no work, life, balance at all. They continously change your hours making it hard to adjust. Management is cut throat and cold hearted. Management plays favorites. Dendreon coaxed people away from stable jobs where the would not otherwise have been laid off promising advancement opportunities and months later after jerking them around, discarded them without a second thought. The severence was a PR move for damage control. If you have a job that is stable I would not leave it to join the Dendreon family unless it is as a second job.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to remove favoritism from your management style and treat your employees like they are people. Training is essential to the job. Don't disgard well trained people for untrained ones because of personal preference. After all according to you it is the patient that should come first not the egos of the managers and supervisors.
