I have been working at Dendreon full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great collaboration and sense of proactivity among the lower lines of the org chart

    Cons

Sitting back to only watch the C-suite leadership botch up our hard work by overestimating earnings by close to 10x.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since all of the original management is gone, to the remaining managers, good luck winding up the firm!

I have been working at Dendreon full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Seattle Site was very profession, competitive pay and benefits, I was there during the approval and the crash, two very different and interesting times

    Cons

Gold was the worst CEO of all time, watching the Management make boatloads with their stock sales, while the rest of us had a closed window and had to wait for the crash was very difficult. No option to transfer to other sites during after layoffs, despite having seniority. Ethics at Seal Beach seemed lower and somewhat alarming.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow trained individuals to transfer to other sites rather than let everyone go. Dont email your politcal views to the whole company regarding votes on income tax either.

I have been working at Dendreon full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The company itself was fun to work at. There were open computers to use and coffee to drink.

    Cons

There were mass hires even tho we sat around doing nothing?

Great learning experience with many difficult hurdles to overcome

Former Employee - Commercial in Cecil Field, FL

I worked at Dendreon full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Passionate people that were very driven in the field.
    Aggressive pay structure
Touched many areas within an Oncology clinic that most product do not

    Cons

More of a Device type format. Have to hand hold the entire process thru until final payment.
High turn over in the field made it very difficult to manage and have customers gain confidence.
Baggage inherited around initial poor reimbursement was difficult to overcome and made it a long process to get customers back. Time that we did not have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open in hiring people into leadership positions with diverse back grounds into the mix. Many people were from JNJ and Amgen. This type of thinking let to group think and limited diverse solutions that could have helped the company.

I worked at Dendreon full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, decent folks, chance to work for a company trying to make a difference.

    Cons

Poor management. Poor management. Failed at making the transition from research company to commercial company. Ruthlessly punished by wallstreet for mistakes. Almost... Intentionally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't fire those who know what's going on and bring in consultants who talk to no one, then make painful uneducated cuts in force,

    Pros

The employees at Dendreon are great people who love what they do.

    Cons

Dendreon needs to address management issues at the Seal Beach site before they run the good employees away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dendreon needs to figure out how to increase sales and to come up with additional products to create stability for the company.

    Pros

To work in manufacturing a novel drug therapeutic within the great biotechnology industry .

    Cons

Company has undergone major financial downturns and downsizing in the past years.
