James A. (Jim) Schoeneck
I worked at Depomed as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – Good communication at the hands-on and low/middle management levels make it a friendly place to work. Depomed has some very talented people even if they aren't always recognized.
Cons – Upper management didn't seem to care what the employees actually did. They were just the hands that let management make announcements to business investors.
Advice to Senior Management – Give a little personal attention to your employees to keep them motivated.

I have been working at Depomed full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Some great people.
Products and technology worth supporting.
Good pipeline for small company.
Good mid-Bay Area location. Moving in December 2012 to a very nice, newly renovated space in the PRC in Newark.
Cons – Senior management, especially the CEO, appears to be out of touch with the organization as a whole. Morale is low and there is much complaining among the ranks. Several good people have recently left or are looking to leave.
Advice to Senior Management – At such a small company the CEO should be more accessible to people beyond his direct reports. And HR should be lead by someone who is truly interested in making sure the work environment is good and that people feel like they are heard.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
