I have been working at Deutsche Bank CIB full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Somewhat better work/life balance than NYC analysts.
Technically better pay than NYC analysts, when adjusting for a much lower cost of living in FL.

    Cons

Lower overall pay/bonus than NYC, feel like back office workers even though we're part of the investment bank.
Feels like no future for career advancement.
Little/no pay differentiation based on group productivity or amount of hours worked.
Lack of passion/drive to succeed in some co-workers.
Local management is very cliquey/shows favoritism to certain groups.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook

I worked at Deutsche Bank CIB

    Pros

    Compensation, work-life balance

Compensation by general standards is really high. The sad bit is that it doesn't compare much to the front office. Being a back office, the office is slightly shielded from cycles in the economy.

    Cons

Exit opportunities are limited. Attrition rate is really high. Little scope of movement to front office jobs within DB. Management does not seem very investment in their juniors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take an active interest in the human capital invested here. That would go a long way forward in ensuring that people are equipped to handle responsibilities and assume leadership roles.
