    Pros

the competitive environment makes everyone to make all effort to excel. people there in general are quite nice and professional. The dress formal is quite good to work there.

    Cons

the organization up-down structure with local and Europe leadership is confusing.

I worked at Deutsche Bank CIB full-time

    Pros

    - Highly entrepreneurial
    - Challenging/interesting work
    - Good salary and benefits

    Cons

    - Highly political environment: pick mentor(s) who are well-regarded and know their way around the organization
    - Highly bureaucratic environment: need to go through a lot of hoops to get things done/approved; only gotten worse with onset of external regulatory forces (a lot tougher to get things done)
    - Sharp elbows among colleagues: at the end of the day, everyone is out for themselves and wanting to maximize their comp at year-end.
(I should note that the above all all pretty common to most, if not all, investment banks)

    - Year end review process completely meaningless and an enormous waste of time

I have been working at Deutsche Bank CIB full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very smart people to work with, interesting projects (at least if you're an engineer) and a nice office space. It's a great place if you're a junior engineer and want to start you career. You'll learn all the essentials that help you to deliver large-scale and complex IT solutions. Very cool (local) senior management.

    Cons

No career opportunities for senior engineers. You either become a manager or have look for opportunities outside of the company. Definitely too much bureaucracy and a lot of cost-cutting and travel freezes over the last years.

    Pros

Type of work varies and career depends a lot on the desk you work for. Senior management bothers much about compliance these days.

    Cons

Switching roles isn't straightforward. Processes are slow and time consuming. Working hard and delivering results may get unnoticed unless you highlight them.
