    Pros

Making a few friends and helping (sometimes) nice customers.

    Cons

That place is a joke. Favoritism, sexual harassment, job harassment, constant fear of being fired for something as stupid as getting horribly sick or a family member dying. The attendance policy doesnt help anybody. At all. Say u get laryngitis, u cant talk for at least 5 days. Sure u can get a doctors note. But its not going to help u. Ur only allowed 9 absences a year. So there goes 5 of them. So yours screwed if u have kids too.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

STOP PLAYING FAVORITES. Your making your agents resent you. Some people are barely there for shifts. Yet theyre still employed. Yet the good ones, get threatened of termination are constantly worried about it. We have families, we have lives. When we work overtime or use our pto, we would like to get paid for it. We shouldnt have to write down all of our hours on our own just to prove we did the work to get paid. Its all in a system, it should be keeping track of that for us. Thats why u have us stupidly use a system to "clock in and out" just to use the damn bathroom. Some of us pee more, have some respect for everybody instead of a select few. And fyi, i have all of the bosses blocked on my facebook, using any of that against us is just plain wrong.

    Pros

A great place to learn how not to do things. Very few things were done well or in a way worth repeating. There were a couple Director level managers that were great teachers and leaders.

    Cons

This is a great place to work in a recession or when no other job opportunities are available. There is high turnover, so they are always hiring. Senior management is like a "old boys club", so women very rarely advance to high level positions. There is almost no consideration for work/home balance and low level managers on up are expected to be on call 24/7 to handle issues. Even low level managers are expected to log in to work at home and have email synced to their phones and the company will not reimburse for phone bills/data usages (some do get reimbursed, but you have to "know the right people" or be "in with the high ups" to get this perk). The human resources department employees have made friends with employees and refuse to address issues with said employees and facilitate a union type environment where managers are often questioned for disciplining employees and unable to take corrective action. Very unprofessional environment; dress code is rarely enforced and when managers try, HR over-rules them. Customer service representatives can be fired by one campaign and then human resources will try to bring in the fired employees to interview for other departments regardless of why the employee was fired in the first place. The CEO was erratic and would have outbursts on managers in front of everyone. Starting salary is extremely low for the amount of work expected. Raises are hard to come by - annual reviews and raises are part of company policy, but rarely happen. When raises do happen, they are small. Even for high performers, the maximum raise was 4% and 4% of nothing is still nothing.

    Pros

Depends on which program you work for. Each program appreciates it employees differently.

    Cons

The company operates on the homeboy system. If you are friends with a supervisor or manager you are surely to move up. No raises until next year. Loyalty does not exist. You can be fired on your 8 year anniversary instead a cake it is the red and white box. Your hours can be cut down with no warning. Such 8 hours a week. Who can live like that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to listen to the lower level employees because we are your front line. We know exactly what is going on.

Regretted ever working for this company

I worked at Dialog Direct full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

To be honest, I cannot think of anything positive to say about this company. I had busted my tail off working for this place for almost 9 years when they had laid me off, and then made up some ridiculous story saying that I had quit because of harsh working conditions. WHAT A LIE!!!!!!!
It is really said that this place had to lie to me, as well as The Department of Work Force Service and make me look bad when in actuality it was them that got the egg in their face.

    Cons

Working under management that had no clue of what is going on at all. Human Resource Representatives cannot even follow up with their own employees, and not to mention making an employee track down their own benefits when there is a problem that Human Resources should've taken care of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with your employees and don't make the feel like they are just statistics instead of employees.

    Pros

the company provides training to those that want to advance. anyone could potentially advance and advance quickly. However, once you advance, it appears that you become a target that needs to be removed.

    Cons

The company is not loyal to their employees. Management is filled with cut throat types of people. They will steal your idea and fire you before they implement the idea.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you invest in your people, you will have loyal employees. Promote from within. It does not make sense to have non-licensed management on licensed campaigns.

    Pros

none! unless you enjoy micro-micro-management by young kids who have no people experience whatsoever..lies about pay scale and how much you can actually make, very secretive management..unpleasant to say the least

    Cons

all job descriptions and pay are lies, very racist company, low pay for work required..just your typical chop shop

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people with more respect, give them the truth from the start, why lie about comissions and pay before you bring someone in and the have some young kids lie and BS their way out everything that was promised..Dont tell professsionals that they can make 70,000 a year plus when you pay 2 Dollar comissions!
Thats why you hire the bottom of the workforce and have so much turnover.

    Pros

They do good work for their clients. They treated me right and were friendly at first, and complimented me on my work. But then...

    Cons

...one day, just after completing a record amount of client templates and receiving many pats on the back for it, they called me in and told me I was terminated. When I asked why, they wouldn't tell me. "That's just the way we do things here," Becky Denna answered. Months later, I saw a blog on which she touted the "family atmosphere around here" or some such nonsense. I bet you can guess what I immediately jumped on and wrote.

For the programming work that I do, their pay scale was comparatively low; I basically took the job out of desperation since I needed money and no other offers were coming. I've noticed since then that there is quite a bit of turnover for this position. One other thing that really bothered me was that I needed a cabinet where I could file some documents. They were too cheap to purchase one for me so I volunteered to bring one from home. Imagine how awkward it was when, after being let go, I had to go back the next day and pick it up since it wouldn't fit in the car I had driven the previous day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your people; they're not just a commodity you can throw around at will. There's such a thing as the Internet where people whom you stab in the back can come back and tell about it.

    Pros

My supervisor and team were absolutely wonderful, always working hard to get the job done. The health insurance plan was okay.

    Cons

The Orem office is a horribly mismanaged. Upper management is a club of unprofessional relationships, even to the point of openly having an affair, while multiple promotions and raises were not achieved on merit. There is no accountability, with much of management spending hours on lunch breaks or chatting while lower management suffers without the resources to get the job done. There was no HR representation in either Utah office for almost 5 months, opening the company up to many legal issues. Senior management at headquarters in Troy have not done their due diligence in uncovering the issues in Utah, and instead consistently hired and fired corporate employees without ever empowering them to do their jobs. It is a very vulture-like culture with much of management generally trying to get the upper hand at others' expense.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Behave professionally, go to work to be the best at your job, not to just hang out with friends.

    Pros

My boss was great! When I brought concers to certain managers-they were addressed.

    Cons

IT department is not customer focused-or they have cultivated a culture where IT doesn't recognize internal customers. The hours were terrible and the expectations of others were not at all realistic. I was in a support role and other managers were often unprofessional and rude. I don't feel like it was a good environment for a mid level professional female employee. It often felt like a boy's club that often looked the other way at serious problems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate your entire compensation structure-create job grades based on skills and education required to perform that job. Consider paying hourly employees weekly. Remember employees, work for you-not the program-pay should be more consistent. Provide mid level managers with the tools to be better managers. Hold those who are not accountable. For a company that size, benefits should be better and less expensive.
