Pros – Good management at store. Liked the product and the people I worked with. Good hours to work. Good reputation in area.
Cons – Pay scale can be difficult to accept. On your feet for long hours, rude customers. You will have some weekend working hours too

Former Employee – worked at Dillard's
Pros – Pay was great and if you're looking for a great deal of hours you'll get them.
Cons – I was a full-time college student at the time and had intentions of working 20 hours a week. I was working over 30 sometimes over 40.

Pros – Love my co-workers, allowance to learn, great management, working on R&D in IT.
Cons – micro management, location, would be nice to work in the field too.
Advice to Senior Management – Allow your employees to have a more flexible schedule.

Pros – It has its moments when it is fun and fair. Once you train yourself its easy to maintain and succeed. The benefits or ok but think better could be obtained. Alot of good people there and a little lighter on hours compared to other companies.
Cons – First I would say the favoritism and rampant gossip. I always feel one should be rewarded for what they do and how they work, not whos butt they kiss. some of the software used is rather antiquated. By far the biggest downside is the lack of advertising and really letting the market share know what we have and who we are. But overall I love it except for a few lil things I would change.
Advice to Senior Management – More training to start not just as it pops up and then a quick tap tap tap do this. I like to excel in every aspect of a job but need the tools and guidelines.

Current Employee – been working at Dillard's
Pros – Nice people, good atmosphere and pay more than most dept stores to start. Good benefits and will move you around the store to different departments when you prove yourself.
Cons – Not very flexible when it comes to hours. They work with minimun staff so when someone is out they don't have backup. Their systems are antiquated, The good workers have to pick up the slack for the average person. Limited supervision. The managers are stretched very thin.
Advice to Senior Management – Update the systems making it easier for the associates to assist the customers. Dillards CC benefits are weak compared to others. Have the associates submit a schedule and make adjustments from there.

Cons – As with all retail jobs, nights and weekends are a given.
Advice to Senior Management – Christmas bonuses would be nice.

Former Employee – worked at Dillard's
Pros – good hourly, $10.00/hr, fun place to work, great spiffs but only on certain products
Cons – cosmetics sales goal for my store was around $100/hr., sometimes was more if Dillard's had an event going on which was supposed to draw more people but really never did, you also have to open at least one Dillard's credit card per week otherwise you have to go to this class thingy on sunday
Advice to Senior Management – go easy on sales goals!

Current Employee – been working at Dillard's
Pros – -Opportunity to make money based on good performance
-Opportunity to move up in company
Cons – -Pay cuts awarded when sales performance is below expectations
-Equal treatment of most sales areas within a store, i.e. All of men's department selling cost is the same so the sales goals are the same percentage calculation for an associate in accessories as the the associate in Polo RL
-Shark like quality of many "successful" associates is ignored by management
Advice to Senior Management – Be more mindful of the people who recieve constant complaints on their conduct rather than using their sales as a measuring stick for quality.

Current Employee – been working at Dillard's
Pros – back in 1995 I was paid $14 per hour. I worked part time and went to school. On slow days it was hard to make a quota but you made it up on busy days
Cons – It was a quota position. I hated that co workers kept taking customers. Customers didn't care that we were paid according to what we sold
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage employees to repect each others costomers.
