Undervalued and out of the loop.

    Analyst (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

    Pros- Great perks
    - Good people
    - Relaxed environment in the research department (unlike ad sales)
    - Easy to take pride in the brand

Cons- Feel like just a cog, very replaceable and undervalued
    - Low pay
    - Boring; management unresponsive when asked for more responsibility
    - I feel like my brain is rotting
    - Generally unorganized and no communication between teams and groups

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your new employees! They could be the ones to stay with the company and shape it in the future, but the turnover rate is so high...

ProsGreat work ethics. People have been there forever so it's like a big family. Nice people. Excellent benefits and pay. Beautiful offices. Great HR department.

ConsVery resistant to change. Extremely territorial. People work on silos. No synergies among departments. It's a company that does not believe/invest in digital. Old fashion way of thinking when it comes to original production. Limited growth opportunities. Could be frustrating if you come from an organization that values reinvention and change.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop comparing against your own benchmarks. Start looking to other metrics, not only ratings.

ConsHard to get your foot in the door

Advice to Senior ManagementBonus paid out to employees at one network shouldn't be contingent on the success of a sister network

Wonderful. Full of smart, capable people.

    Editor (Current Employee)

ProsEveryone is so intelligent and engaged. We worked hard and played hard. Work-life balance was fairly good, and there were many opportunities to learn and grow.

ConsUpper Management needs to consider the needs of the rank-and file. Layoffs would happen without warning and upper management didn't really consider the needs of those they jettisoned.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees with a bit more respect.

It's a great place to work. There are very few places out there with a culture like theirs.

    Producer (Current Employee)
    Miami, FL

ProsThe people. Young, Vibrant and easy going, despite being a cable TV network. Excellent Content.

ConsLike every other big company, the internal bureaucracy and probably the pay. But that's it.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you could speed up some of the processes and pay a little better, it would be better than great.

Your experience will depend on your department

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSmart, considerate, nice but competitive people in the Advertising Sales group. Your mileage will vary when working on the network side. Great resources and compensation.

ConsSome legacy employees are loathe to change and will shut down innovation if they feel threatened.
