    Pros

The weekly truck comes already organized according to departments.

    Cons

You always have resets to do plus putting out your truck. Its a lot to taken on with little payroll.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow Store Managers to run the store and don't make them feel unappreciated.

Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager  in  Dallas, TX
Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Dallas, TX

    Pros

Fairly basic stocking and not much else to recommend.

    Cons

Very little training, Assistant store manager is glorified cashier. Title only. Too much work for very little pay. Hours get cut often. can't make payroll so you don't work on occasions. Sloppy handling of employees discipline when errors are made. Chain of command lacks substance. Lack of motivation from top down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your assistant managers more authority and less connection with having to run cash register. I mean the management should coach, assist, supervise and assistant should be allowed to discipline other employees when needed. Assistant really needs to be more in the loop on what's going on and less a glorified cashier. Assistants job as a whole should be weighed not just as a cashier when they want to write an assistant up.

    Pros

I liked it because it was right around the corner from my house. They also had good prices on a lot of their items.

    Cons

Extremely heavy workload; Manager stated assistant manager was in charge but when doing something assistant manager told me to do manager came in and fussed because I was doing what the assistant manager told me to do.

Former Employee - Sales Associate in Farrell, PA

    Pros

Pay was good for being a sales associate.

    Cons

Barely had any training, was supposed to be three days, it was 5 minutes the first day on the job. Expect a lot out of one cashier when only two people were present during the whole shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire at least one more person so job duties can get done more efficently. Don't hire people who don't have customer service personalities and hate working with the public

    Pros

If you like seeing people and working with the customer directly.
This is the job for you.
Constant customer interaction and a very fast pace work environment.

    Cons

A very fast paced work environment.
It will either make your day extremely slow or extremely fast.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Having more corporate visits at the regional level would help. As well as follow ups when a complaint happens.
I was in Tennessee and our air conditioning broke the entire summer. Unhappy customers and bussiness lost happenRd on and daily basis.
The temperature inside the store was close to the temperature outside. 100+ degrees outside.
About 95 inside and 100% humidity

    Pros

I loved the the interaction with the customers.

    Cons

As assistant manager i would have to work double shifts sometimes 2 days in a row if an employee called in. I was 6 months pregnant still having to unload the trucks and roll out the cages and the manager didn't care neither did the district manager.
