    Pros

Great at showing employee appreciation, fun events, leader in homes industry.

    Cons

Corporate environment makes it hard for new ideas to play out. Senior management wants younger people to make a more modern product, but don't listen to things we need to make that happen. Takes a million years to get easy fixes completed since it has to go to every boss above you.

    Advice to Management

Either take the time to make a better product (ie: product development) or expect employees to not be happy when they need fixes from development for the customers and they are never ever received. Even after have a million meetings on why we can't get tasks completed on the corporate scale they want. Listen to us "little people" or you will definitely fail. No questions about that. Product needs to be #1 concern.

The pay scale is on the very low end.

    Advice to Management

Do some competitive shopping to find out why good people are leaving .

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Autonomy to do your job. Management does not micromanage. Good benefits.

    Cons

Pay is not great. Increases are rare despite performance.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay and make raises more attainable.

    Pros

    -You can wear jeans/causal clothes
    -Peers are great people
-Jack Ross is a decent CEO
    - Benefits program is decent

    Cons

    1. Good ol' boy system - promotes the same managers over and over. I can't remember the last time a peer was promoted to a manager. MIT program is a joke. Only people that are well liked are chosen to go through it and even once your done there is no where to go because the same people get promoted.

    2. Cubie world is alive and well. 3 grey walls is what you get. They try and make it cool buy adding a couple chairs as a "lounge", but it's seriously lacking. Not everyone is allowed stand up desks. Company should be promoting the idea of open areas and ways for people to stand up vs. sitting down all day.

    3. VP's have and do make you feel that if you make a somewhat decent salary after years of employment that you should be grateful to have it and that they can take it away anytime they like and have. They have no issues changing pay just because they can. Even if, as a division, you made budget/goal for the entire year.

    4. Some departments have the opportunity to adjust their schedules to accommodate kids or school, etc. But other departments want to make you feel that your work hours are this and there is no exceptions. Not fair for hard working employees to see other departments enjoy this opportunity and some are not. Same goes with people working for home 1 day a week and most employees can't when we ALL would love it!! Again, micro managing gone crazy and stuck in the 90's office mentality.

    5. Senior level VP's need to get more involved with division level changes and make sure that all divisions in the company are even and fair (flexible schedules, etc...). You have great employees here, but you have managers in place that make you feel like it's their way and there is the door if you don't like it.

    6. Impossible to get on a committee within the company (activities, united way, etc...) unless you are in with the "in" crowd.

    Advice to Management

Get more involved senior VP's - find out if the changes people are making are in line with all the other divisions.

Get out of the 90's and look at other companies and how they have their office's set up. Promote stand up desks, hell maybe even 15 minute yoga breaks in each quad to destress!!

Environment is pretty good. Casual attire makes it more relaxed and fun atmosphere. But employee turnover rate is high.

    Pros

Casual attire. Down to earth employees. Trying to be a more relaxed environment for employees but still a cubicle farm. Culture is improving.

    Cons

Underpaid. Definitely not competitive pay to the area. Also, not always clear direction and not clear what you can do to get promotions. Assuming that's why there's a high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Employees invest in you, invest back. No incentives gives people no reason to work harder or stay longer. Also, relax. Get rid of the cubicles. It's not 1994 anymore.

    Pros

    A vibrant community of professionals
Across the company there's a lot of collaboration
    Working with some fun technologies

    Cons

    Benefits are quite light
Individual businesses can have some pretty poisonous cultures
Big disconnect between high levels of leadership and the business unit goals
There are a few really bad executives that create an unhealthy air of politics

    Advice to Management

Grow the culture that some of your younger, up-and-coming managers brings to the company
Get rid of the most politically scheming and dangerous executives

    Pros

Company premise and purpose are based around customer commitment, industry changing technology, and *ideally* open-mindedness.

    Cons

Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians.
Focus on process alteration 95% of the time, focus on customer feedback is the miniscule 5%. It seems that management within this company isn't willing to get their hands dirty. The vital members of management are usually golfing or vacationing.
