I have been working at Dr. Reddy's full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Family and work life balance.

    Cons

Really cheap on salary increase for the employees who have been working there for a long time. The only way to make a decent salary is coming in as a new person or being from India and you know someone higher up. Yes you guessed it, a LOT of discrimination.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Dr. Reddy's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Everyone is working multiple jobs (compared to working in big pharma where people work in silos). You have to manage your own time but if the opportunity is embraced, you can really learn a lot about the Pharma business because all of the teams are integrated for product development, filing and commercialization projects.

The work from home/time off is very flexible but varies depending on your supervisor.

    Cons

The culture of Quality is lacking. The quality team has to fight to keep quality and compliance in mind during the development process. This causes Quality to look like they are holding back time lines and costing projects more money but because Quality review and/or comments were not factored in, it does cause headaches and a push to avoid quality oversight by non-quality teams by skipping the review process. The non-quality teams do not understand the downstream impact.
Onboarding is very unorganized. The team you will be working with doesn’t always know you are showing up. Training is not ready for you and depending on your team’s travel schedule, you will not be fully trained to perform your job duties for many months.
The HR team in the US is strongly influenced by the team in India so they are much more likely to pull someone from India for a position then to promote or move a current associate in the US laterally who is just as qualified.
I have recommended multiple people for jobs through the designated HR process and the HR team lost/overlooked paperwork in one case, had assumed someone was over qualified and would not accept the salary in another case and in the 3rd case they had someone in mind before posting the position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide training to management employees. Don’t assume that since they have experience and would like the opportunity to manage people that they are able to do so. The paternal behavior of male Indian managers is interpreted as sexist. The interview questions should be scripted to be sure managers do not ask personal questions (marriage, children) during an interview.

I have been working at Dr. Reddy's full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

if you like to keep following up with people for every little thing this is the best place, the leadership will give your manager work and expect you to follow instructions, this is a preference for some people.

    Cons

One of the most egotistical leadership, lot of lip service to values nothing works on the ground, purely top-down approach despite that system being discredited

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no need for non-production staff to stay in the office 9 hours a day, work from home for many employees would be a welcome and productive change. (But for this to happen, the systems need to be in place and they are not. for every simple task they are multiple follow-ups to be done, most IT and HR systems malfunction, Finance and IT function's non-time bound approach will not do.)

Personal growth is relatively staggered, there is no room to move up. The pay is low and continues to grow at snail's pace.

    I worked at Dr. Reddy's

    Pros

The very best reasons to work at Dr. Reddy's are the people (non management) who work there. They hire top notch people and this level. The benefits are wonderful and the hours can be very flexible.

    Cons

Management! The Site Leadership Team (SLT) believes they are above everyone who works for them. They travel to insignificat meetings across the world and do not report to the "lower levels" what information they garnered during their travels. If you look up the management on Linkedin you will see that they don't have strong resumes, meaning no strength in their field so they rule by being over dominant or yelling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should learn to speak to their employees and include them in decisions. Ask and then listen for their opinions. In Shreveport you have hired very knowlegeble, talented people but you keep them in the dark and don't include them in business decisions. You will loose all of your talent in the next 6 months if things don't change!
