Pros – Stores have a friendly environment, you can advance within company, job is somewhat challenging (during busy hours), great management, and is fun learning about how the retail industry works.
Cons – There were times I wish management could have been a bit stricter with employees being late so that it was consistent within management. Otherwise, management was overall AWESOME.

Current Employee – been working at Dress Barn full-time for less than a year
Pros – Sincere dedication to their mission to inspire women. Great upper management that gives everyone an opportunity to contribute ideas. Stylish clothes at great prices. Excellent benefits and work environment.
Cons – Still working to provide newer tools at the store level, such as hand scanners. Allowing store managers to adjust inventory levels by dept. would help us react to local trends.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep lines of communication open, invest in new technologies.

Current Employee – been working at Dress Barn
Pros – Strong company
Great benifits
Great teaching tools
Leaders for many fundraisers
Company sometimes matches contrabutions
Programs to help struggling associates
Cons – The only downside, store manager not walking the talk. 2 years of coaching for hostility, temper, unfair treatment, and aggressive behavior is still not resolved.
Advice to Senior Management – The company guidelines are great., not always used. Assistant mangers need to be heard, without retalition from store manager.

Former Employee – worked at Dress Barn
Pros – Generally a good bunch of girls/women. Supportive and fun. Other store relationships generally great, and DM generally nice, supportive, and easy to talk to. Best work/life balance and benefits of any company I have worked for, and I have worked for a few!
Cons – Can't really come up with any - although you'll wait a LOOOOONG time for management op unless you can relocate as managers stay put... with pretty good reason! Oh, and small p/t shifts can make it VERY hard to employ great people.
Advice to Senior Management – DM should be a little warmer to sales associates, as they drive the business too! Also would appreciate a little less berating for missing sales/cc targets when we are looking at an empty mall!
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
