    Pros

Great engineers/developers - easy to work with. Very friendly, almost "family friendly" feel to place. Lots of people willing to answer quick questions even if they're in different departments. Nice campus, good benefits.

    Cons

Currently some turnover due to a relatively large number of contractors working there. Wasn't that way when I started 15 years ago, just started 2-3 years ago. Hopefully they'll move away from this - convert contractors to full time or hire more full-time permanents.

    Advice to Management

I would move away from using contractors so much in software/hardware engineering. I do like that Wayne brings in summer interns, though.

    Pros

Team environment was good. Had a lot of support and flexibility when my father was sick. The right manager can look out for you.

    Cons

Sales is the fast track to higher management levels. Production and Quality take a back seat on promotions.

    Advice to Management

    Reward the good managers.

    Pros

Very strong company management keeps things moving whatever is happening in the world. Downturns have minimal impact on employees.

    Cons

Smokestack mentality prevents them from understanding how to invigorate the business with technology innovation. Since this is their strategic goal, the burn up the people they hire to do this for them. They always try to avoid risk instead of trying to spread their bets and get a payoff.

    Advice to Management

Understand that technology based growth is inherently inefficient, that many failures lie behind each success. Give your bright thinkers the chance to take risks and don't execute them when it doesn't work out. Literally, spread your bets and expect to lose most of them.

    Pros

The technical internship I worked for was a positive experience. My manager and co workers were open and made me feel open to communicate. Basically, easy to get along with. The enviornment was relaxed. A large company, so the daily grind is a factor, however, breaks and flexible hours made up for it.

    Cons

Pay could have been higher. Not much technical involvment. However that is up to how aggressive one is willing to be.

    Advice to Management

I really enjoyed my manager. Efficient with assignments and did not micro manage.
