Current Employee – been working at Duane Reade
Pros – Great place to work; a smaller more attentive management ensures that issues of larger national chains are not present and/or quickly fixed.
Cons – Not really any -- most of my colleagues would prefer working here in comparison to the multitude of other national chains!
Advice to Senior Management – I would ask that managers in-store be given a greater say in company growth and direction. We have a great group of people and everyone should be allowed their contribution.

Current Employee – been working at Duane Reade
Pros – -Great set hours (I work 2-10 except for Sundays 1-9)
-Managers let you know ahead of time when scheduling is being changed
-Get praised and recognition for doing good work
-Organized business
Cons – -10% discount
-When the company wants to promote something new, they give us ugly ass shirts advertising what they are promoting on it. This time they are promoting their new 'flex rewards card" and we have to wear these ugly ass bright lime green/yellow highlighter shirts.
-Stingy with time and a half but want you to work past your hours
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to the employees!

Former Employee – worked at Duane Reade
Pros – My co-workers were supportive and helpful. We all worked like a team. It was a friendly and positive environment. Overnight employees worked full-time and had Saturdays and Sundays off.
Cons – You were paid minimum wage. A small raise is given within a year. Credit isn't give where credit is due.
Advice to Senior Management – Great environment to work, more recognition of a well done job, an understanding General Manager, show more appreciation for hard working employees
