Great money if you can put up with chaotic idiocy.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at DynCorp International full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe pay is amazing, for some positions and the work is incredibly easy. Just have a plan and meet your financial goals, then move on with your life.

ConsInept leadership that will not hesitate to break federal regulations just to hinder you.
The money can cause some people to lose sight of their life. You will notice many people get trapped over there.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire good management to replace you and then leave. You have become blinded by your pay. For every small glimmer of redemption that would come out of corporate, 10 times that would be eliminated by incompetent PMs.

Opportunity

Senior Recruiter (Current Employee)
Fort Worth, TX

I have been working at DynCorp International full-time for more than 3 years

ProsDynCorp provides an unlimited amount of opportunity for travel and seeing the world. I worked in Recruiting for 3 years now and have seen places that I only dreamed about. Salary is decent.

ConsAlways constant consistent change! Nothing is ever the same week to week. There is absolutely ZERO training available, I have never been to a "new employee" orientation and upper management does not have experience needed to manage.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire VP's, Directors, and Managers whom actually recruited before, HR is completely different from recruiting. Contractors are still employees, do not view them as just an employee number.

Good but Unstable - Uneven Employee Experiences - Both Good and Bad

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Falls Church, VA

I worked at DynCorp International

ProsGenerally, the employees are dedicated and turely interested in doing the right thing. Excellent vacation time, very good benefits, good location and facilities. (The covered parking is great.)

ConsUnstable -- multiple headquarters lay-offs, triggered by the arrival of new CEOs. Also, frequent changes in policies and procedures, with uneven application across the corporation. This creates waste. Despite management's best efforts, to reward performance, the employees who succeed are too often their manager's favorites.

Advice to Senior ManagementToo little of the management philosophy is actually applied day-to-day. Look into how employees are treated and the human impact of your decisions. You may be surprised at what you find.

DynCorp International, The good, The bad, the ugly.

Aviation Maintenance Technician (Current Employee)
Fort Campbell, KY

I have been working at DynCorp International

ProsIF you're prior military, (aviation) It's a simple and smooth transition. I belive that with just military experience, DynCorp International has some of the best pay on Fort Campbell, and with the current cost of living the pay is really good. The medical benefits are also really good compared to other companies from what I hear.

ConsSometimes I hear that theres too much overhead in certain areas, and there is also very little to no room for professional growth or career advancement. If you were an aircraft machanic in the military then you'll most likley be an aircraft machanic with Dyncorp forever. And you run into the "ho hum" slavery of doing the very same thing everyday for the rest of your life.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would tell them to not be so greedy during the tough times.
