    Pros

The CEO was the first person I met on my first day--he presented at orientation for a couple of hours. The office was closing early due to dangerous weather and, yet, there he was. I was immediately impressed by Steve Gaffney and the company and every day I work here, I firmly believe this company lives its values. The people in the office are friendly. The online employee tools (training, policies & procedures, time tracking, expense reports, HR, etc.) are excellent. The newsletters are informative. I work with very smart people, the work is engaging, and I feel like management really cares about me. My management team (not just my immediate manager, but all the way up) meets with me to discuss my level of job satisfaction. I don't feel like a number here--I feel like a human being. The corporate growth strategy appears to be well aligned with the needs of the market and the work reflects a genuine interest and commitment to being successful.

    Cons

It's just a shame more companies don't operate this way. I don't have anything negative to say about DI.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Pros

DI has a values-based culture with leadership who walk the talk. Lots of opportunity and upward mobility for those who are willing to work hard. Supporting our nation in its endeavors around the world is a huge plus.

    Cons

Work life balance is a challenge for many. But the work is incredibly rewarding.

    Advice to Management

Continue to enforce values with leadership around the world and hold those accountable whose performance may be strong but whose behaviors are lacking.

We hold you all in high esteem.

Also, consider a formal telecommuting program or 9/80's for employees who are giving much of their personal time to help the company succeed. Averaging 50 hours of work a week equates to an employee giving the company an extra 65 days of service. Something formal would be especially important to lower level employees who receive no additional incentive.

    Pros

Salary and benefits are king! If you really know your stuff and have an ample amount of experience i.e. 10 years or more, then this is a great paying, I mean awesome paying job that should not be passed up. Well, provided you are a single person or have a very patient spouse who doesn't mind waiting for you while you put some dough away for your future.

    Cons

Comunication. After having to meet some pretty strict criteria to get the job, you may feel a bit ripped off by some of the inexperienced individuals that pop up every now and then. The lines of communication leave something to be desired which is no atmosphere for the inexperienced in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Feedback is the best keyword. When asked for information, at least let someone know you are awake received the request and are working on it.

  6. Changes needed, Aviation Safety Issues, all penciled in maintenance of Naval Aviation Support Equipment.

I have been working at DynCorp International

    Pros

NONE at CSL Dyncorp Intl. CFT at the site feels they are untouchable, unprofessional attitude to people other than the higher ranks of the customer and tries to work every angle to get into that network to keep things the way they have been for years.

    Cons

EL SALVADOR CSL NAVAIR/GSE CFTs Audit needed of records, tool-control, PMs, QA checks incomplete/Maint/safety IAW-NAVAIR.

DynCorp Intl CFTs NAVAIR/GSE Maint/Support CSL-1 EL SALVADOR Aviation Safety Issues.

The problem is that the same CFT has been on site for 14yrs and the maintenance is slacking with no expert QA/oversight. Zero maintenance only calls go out to ship me in another piece of equipment rather than perform repairs at the customer's location, shipping costs on the customer's budget are throwing red flags to the moon.

    Advice to Management

Surprise Secretly Audit the site from Corporate's Higher Echelon of experts, CFT side has to many friends in lower network of management and leak any upcoming AUDITS to their buddy network.

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits, support is excellent

    Cons

on-site management was awful. brought too much ex-military to contract full of civilians.

    Advice to Management

ex-special ops managers aren't special anymore. don't push your chain of command on us. we aren't in your military. Dyn needs to look more closer and their hiring process, just because someone is a colonel doesn't mean they are qualified.
