  1. If you're serious about doing technical work and advancing your skills, do not come to EA.

I worked at EA Engineering full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The best technical expertise is in the often abused and under-resourced satellite offices. Lincoln and Deerfield offices have the best potential and best skilled people.

    Cons

"Unpaid Overtime - UNPAIDOT" is a category in time sheets. You will only be paid for the billable hours and un-billable proposals up to 40 per week, then all un-billable proposal time is expected to be donated to the company. Despite this, the break even multiplier is still extremely high, presumably due to an excessive corporate bonus structure, ridiculous rent for the corporate headquarters, massive corporate waste on perks, an abundance of vice presidents, and waste due to internal competition.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Complete restructuring of the profit centers in advised, along with re-evaluation of the pay structure to allow for un-billable and billable overtime. How do you expect field people to grow work and manage projects when most have already worked 40 hours by Wednesday, and you won't pay the office time Thursday and Friday?

I have been working at EA Engineering full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Location, I don't see anything else to write 5 words.

    Cons

Poor pay, expects you to work from 7am to 7 pm everyday with no OT. Management threatens employees all the time. Deceits clients by looking into possible change orders. Dormant HR policies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To retain good talent - you got to pay them standard industry salaries and industry specific work loads.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    Good location. Good food around

    Cons

High and mighty sr management. Two Sr. VPs are fighting among themselves on basis of who has more political clout. Their division employees are not allowed with each other. Stupid company policies. No professional ethics. Dissatisfied clients. Poor leadership. Worst company to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up. Your fights have nothing to with others.

Going nowhere? Great place if you like to have nothing to do. Mediocre is the mentality.

I worked at EA Engineering full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The only benefit of this job is if you like to sit around and do nothing. Not sure how they stay afloat, the phones never rang. Great job if you like to keep a chair warm and have no one to talk to eight hours a day.

    Cons

Siloed work environment, limited growth, not interested in new ideas or talent, poor work environment, "raises" do not keep up with inflation. My skills atrophied while working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are going to hire young talent, provide them with opportunities and a clear path for growth or do not bother.
