ProsJob opportunities in literally any region of your choice. They have a large network and appear to be well known in school systems. Medical and dental benefits. 250$ per year towards professional development.

ConsThey overdo the marketing bit and misrepresent or conceal the nature of what you are getting into. They offer a 401k plan without matching funds. They do not allow you to discuss your salary with other employees so you never know whether you are getting paid fairly. Your salary depends on how pricey you act at the time of the interview. The no-compete clause is inherently unfair. They claim to pay you as much as the school system pays its own employees which when you calculate everything is a downright lie. No paid maternity leave and you do not get paid during school breaks. Close to zero opportunities for career and professional development. They promised to support me if I needed help but when I asked to be trained in a particular area they informed me that their expert in that area did not consider it to be neccesary. Worst of all - in some cases they do not stick to their word. A colleague of mine underwent a lot of stress after being assured a full year of work during her CFY in a supervised setting to help her complete her certification. She was placed on and off in different schools to cover for others going on leave. At the end of each assignment of 2-3 months she would never be sure that there would be a job for her the coming month. (They overrecruited and did not have enough jobs for everyone!!). Its a bum deal whichever way you look at it.

Advice to Senior ManagementAt the very least offer REAL professional development . Taped audio semimars are not interactive enough. Hire recruiters who have true interest in your employees' satisfaction.
