Great place to develop yourself into a more valuable employee

    Audit Staff I (Current Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

Pros+ Career development opportunities are abundant
+ Excellent learning experience, especially if you want to understand how large companies operate
+ Plenty of room for movement (i.e. city-to-city, promotion, service line-to-service line)
    + Challenging work, no stagnation

Cons- As is the case in the profession, EY does demand a heavy workload
    - Sometimes the compensation seems low compared to how much you work and what you can immediately obtain elsewhere. However, the long-term career opportunities at EY dwarf the short-term pay incentives elsewhere.

Advice to Senior ManagementEnsure adequate staffing and competitive compensation

    Good Overall

    Tax Senior (Current Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsGood starting place. Flexible hours when you needed it. I have never been told that I can't go on vacation or do something when I needed/wanted to as long as I got my work done or had plans to get it done. There are a lot of smart hard working people in this office and I get along with them well.

ConsLong hours, lower pay then I would like (but I'm sure I would be saying that no matter where I was working), and it is hard to be considered one of the best even though you have put in the time and effort. I usually don't mind working with a lot of good people but in this case it's hard to get ahead.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay for better health care, dual monitors at each cube, and make the office look nicer.

    Solid place to learn

    Audit Staff (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

Pros-Great opportunities to work on exciting tech clients in the bay area
-Ability to own a process at a client (revenue, equity, inventory, etc)
-Able to manage team members below you after 1 year
    -'senior title' in two years
-Directly interact with management (directors, controllers, etc) after a short period of time

    Cons-Long hours
-Pay does not correlate with the hours we are required to work
-Sometimes you will be working on boring tasks

Advice to Senior Management-Continue to clean up the technology issues
-Evaluate the required audit forms, checklists, etc for inefficiency

Ideal for those who look to start a career.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsDecent pay with great benefits. There is an open door policy and most senior execs are approachable. You get an opportunity to work with talented and intelligent co-workers.

ConsExtremely difficult to transfer to another sector within the firm. At times it can be political. The performance review process needs to be enhanced. Work/life balance is a non-existent. They expect you to work long hours regardless of individual circumstances.
