    Pros

decent benefits, 18 days of vacation, EY stamp on your resume, depending on your team they allow that you work from home

    Cons

basically work 65 hour weeks including the following per day: hour of lunch, 2 hours of commute round trip, minimum of 9 'chargeable' hours worked, with usually 1 hour of admin and misc.

    Advice to Management

employee's should be paid more for the hours that we put in. The partners make $400/hr for the services of a staff (depending on the engagement).

    Pros

Great people, good benefits, friendly atmosphere, great place to learn and gain experience

    Cons

Not great work/life balance, especially as you move up in the firm, too much workload projected to the senior level, don't always put your needs ahead of the firms, hard to switch out of audit into other departments if you desire to

    Advice to Management

more flexibility, promote and allow more employees to try out different departments in the company

    Pros

Benefits. mobility, atmosphere. A generally nice place to work with good and talented people. Potential for lateral and upward mobility

    Cons

Salaries are not on par with other big four firms. They preach work-life balance but don't always practice. The direction hasn't trickled down from the CEO to the managers.

    Advice to Management

Managers should listen to what the CEO and other leadership are saying about balancing your life and career. I don' think they are listening.

    Pros

A great support system. People want you to succeed. If you are interested in any particular type of work, they are flexible enough to help you find it depending on the availability. Happy hours, trainings and other events are always fun.

    Cons

Compensation can vary greatly depending on the group that you are joining. If you don't try to carve your own career path and interests, you may get pulled onto projects that you would otherwise wouldn't want to be on.

    Advice to Management

Culture are EY is better than some of the other consulting firms. 'People' are the firm's asset. Management should focus on keeping them happy. Exponential growth could lead to making bad recruits.

    Pros

You get to learn a lot. Your experience will vary depending on your team. If you work on a great team you will have a great experience. I have worked with some great individuals that make the job enjoyable.

    Cons

Lots of late hours. Pay is below what you can make in industry. I've worked with some terrible employees who make the job much more stressful than it should be. Also, some managers don't care about your personal life at all. They want you to work around the clock. Even if you have a family at home.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep turnover down, increase total compensation and lower the hour requirements. People leave because the expectation to work nights and weekends can become too demanding, especially with the salaries we receive.
